Five years ago, a picture of a dress left people around the world divided.

Referred to simply as 'The Dress', it was originally shared to Facebook on February 25, 2015, by Grace Johnston of Colonsay, Scotland. She had been sent the picture of The Dress by her mother, Cecilia, and the family could not agree if it was blue and black or white and gold.

It wasn't long before The Dress went viral, as people around the world disagreed on the true colors of the garment (it is blue and black, by the way).

But now, a new piece of apparel has divided the internet - this time, a pair of flip-flops.

The disputed footwear was shared to Facebook on July 13 by user Lacie Marie. She had uploaded the photo of the flip flops, and asked her friends: "LOL - this again!!! What color are these flip flops?"

So, dear readers, what color are the flip flips?

After being shared more than 9,500 times across the social media platform, once again, people in the comments section are divided.

Some people are saying white and gold, others are adamant the correct colors are blue and black.

In fact, I can see them as blue and black (the correct colors), but my wife insists they are white and gold... Oh, please let working from home come to an end soon for the sake of my marriage.

In fact, as you can see from the image above, the Havaianas flips flops are indeed blue and black.

And for one final brain teaser, people on Twitter were left divided over which direction this dog was going on this staircase - up or down?

One thing I would love to see is somebody wearing The Dress and these flip flops, while walking that dog up/down those stairs.
