A man who took to YouTube years ago to express how he thought he was "ugly" has married a woman who commented on the video.

Finding love can be pretty tricky, even with the rise of dating apps it seems like forming genuine connections is a lot harder now than it was for previous generations.

But even before dating apps people still struggled to meet people, and that can cause a person to think they're not good enough, but that self-doubt is often misplaced.

This story began in 2018 when David, the creator behind the YouTube channel Never Give Up, uploaded a video titled "Being ugly: My experience."

In the vulnerable video, the Swedish YouTuber shared his feelings of loneliness and inadequacy, stating: "Every video I come across is with a really attractive or 'normal' person. They have no idea how it really is."

Describing his own experiences of mistreatment and loneliness, he listed the physical features he disliked about himself. The video, a cry for understanding, quickly went viral and garnered over 20 million views.

However, amidst the overwhelming response, a comment by a user named Juli.Romina.M stood out and marked the beginning of a remarkable journey. The comment read: "I actually think you’re kinda cute tbh. I mean it."

Juli then reached out to the YouTuber through Discord. The initial connection soon blossomed into a long-distance relationship, as she eventually flew out to Sweden to be with her newfound love.

Within a year of meeting online, the couple exchanged vows, as confirmed by Juli, who revisited the video to share the positive outcome of her initial comment.

She reflected: “Shortly after the wedding, I remembered the first comment I ever made to him on his channel. Little did I know that the guy that popped up on my YouTube recommended, and I thought he was very cute, was going to be my husband."

The 'Never Give Up' YouTube channel now features a message in its bio: "I love my wonderful Juliana."

It's safe to say that this story touched the hearts of many people around the world, as positive comments now flood every video that David and Juli create together.

"Man this is the wholesome things I like to see. Beyond proud of this guy. This is one of my favorite YouTube story arcs," one person commented.

A second said: "I can't believe the Being Ugly video was 5 years ago now! I'm so happy for you man. I bet it's crazy to watch that video and remember how you felt in your mind at that time in your life now."

A third added: "It’s amazing seeing how your vulnerability led to the life you lead now. Thank you for being transparent with us and we’re all really happy for you!"

While a fourth said: "Dude this is amazing news to hear! I can't begin to convey how happy I am for you. I hope you two go the distance. I wish you guys the very best."

We hope David and Juli enjoy married life!
