For many people, their pet is an extension of their personality. I have three hamsters and each of them is a little like me. Ziggy is ridiculously nervous, but will come around to the right people; Lady has so much energy that she actually broke her wheel by running so fast and Eleanor? Well, she's ridiculously chill. A state we can all aspire to.
However, some pet owners are lucky enough to actually resemble their pets - either by accident or because they saw a similar feature in them and that's what sold it. So, to celebrate the lifelong bonds us humans have with our furry friends, we've compiled a list of the best pictures people have shared online of them looking like their pets!
[post_page_title]The Icon That Is Elizabeth Taylor[/post_page_title]
Elizabeth Taylor will forever be one of Hollywood's most iconic names, famed not only for her acting talents but her love of her beloved pooches. She adored them so much that she had matching wigs made...

This iconic picture was captioned: "Elizabeth Taylor, and I can not stress this enough, wearing a wig designed to match her Shih Tzu dog, Mariposa. Photo by Norman Parkinson for British Vogue (1972)."
[post_page_title]Fair Enough[/post_page_title]
While Elizabeth Taylor's eccentricity might seem like a part of the parcel of being a member of Hollywood's elite, it turns out that some of us Average Joes have altered our appearances to look like our pets too.

This hilarious picture of a black-haired woman wearing cat ears and makeup was captioned: "I legit dyed my hair black so people would stop asking if my cat was adopted..."
[post_page_title]Boodles[/post_page_title]
As you'll soon learn, it's clear that a lot of people see a doggo and decide to take them home with them because of their uncanny resemblance. There's no way this man acquired Boodles by accident.
[caption id="attachment_1034" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @MichaelMario1[/caption]
This hilarious picture of a very curly-haired doggo and his equally curly-haired owner was captioned quite simply: "This is Boodles."
[post_page_title]Some People Don't Need Wigs[/post_page_title]
Elizabeth Taylor might have had to fork out some cash to truly twin with her doggo, but there are some owners out there who are lucky enough not to need to need a wig to twin with their pooch!
[caption id="attachment_1035" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @tds153[/caption]
This man captioned this picture of him holding his admittedly adorable dog: "If you're truly committed, you don't need a wig."
[post_page_title]Now This Is Twinning/post_page_title]
In response to the now-viral picture of Elizabeth Taylor and her pooch, some people shared pictures of themselves twinning with their pets claiming that they did it better. What do you think?
[caption id="attachment_1036" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @ArabellaAldaine[/caption]
This woman shared a picture of herself and her silver-haired cat Ethel with the following bold claim: "Me and Ethel did it better." Personally, as cute as these two are, I think Taylor is still in the lead!
[post_page_title]Expert Level[/post_page_title]
Looking at the picture of Elizabeth Taylor and her pooch, it's safe to say that she's an expert when it comes to matching her look with her dog's and pictured below is a woman who's nailed it just as well.
[caption id="attachment_1037" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @wrongpotato[/caption]
She captioned this picture of her fabulous raven black hairstyle next to her equally raven black doggo: "I've reached expert level in dog matching."
[post_page_title]Not Bad[/post_page_title]
What do you think? Is it better when someone deliberately twins with their pet? Or is it even more memorable when someone accidentally bears a strong resemblance to their pet like this woman?
[caption id="attachment_1038" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @Caitlinmae[/caption]
They both have quite frankly gorgeous salt and pepper hair and she captioned this picture of her and her cat on Twitter: "My cat and I do alright."
[post_page_title]Can You Spot This Doggo?[/post_page_title]
Usually, doggos are impossible to miss, but this doggo and his mom twinned so hard that, well, you can't see them on a first glance. Elizabeth Taylor would most certainly approve!
[caption id="attachment_1039" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
The Invisible Doggo[/caption]
This brilliant picture of this dark and curly-haired puppy blending like a chameleon into his mom's hair was captioned: "Mine just blends in the right way."
[post_page_title]Another Chamelon Doggo[/post_page_title]
After seeing that incredible example of twinning above, it would be easy to convince yourself that it was a one-off, but it turns out that more than one doggo has achieved chameleon twinning status with their human.
[caption id="attachment_1040" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @tbranyen[/caption]
One again, on a first glance, this pooch is impossible to see, it's only when you look closer, past their owner's matching hair that you're able to spot them having a nap!
[post_page_title]Doggos Are The Best Inspiration[/post_page_title]
It's no secret that animals can have fabulous hairdos and, on occasion, they inspire us more than our human counterparts. Take this woman, for example, who unintentionally dyed her hair like her mom's dog.
[caption id="attachment_1041" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @tweetingennui[/caption]
This before and after pictures of this woman's doggo inspired hair transformation were captioned: "I unintentionally took my hair color cues from my mom's dog last year."
[post_page_title]Tinker[/post_page_title]
The great thing about these twinning pictures is that you can tell which ones were intentional and which ones happen totally by accident. This is definitely another, as Bob Ross, would say, "Happy little accident".
[caption id="attachment_1043" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @SarahMarshall[/caption]
This blonde-haired woman captured this selfie of her and her dog twinning: "Excellent. This is me and Tinker." Isn't Tinker adorable? I've got a feeling he's a good boy too.
[post_page_title]It's Not Always Twinning With Doggos And Cats[/post_page_title]
Okay, sure, this list is made up entirely of dogs and cats, but there are one or two exceptions in the species department when it comes to twinning like a boss. Like this spiky-haired guinea pig.
[caption id="attachment_1044" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @Zeenie75[/caption]
This uncanny similarity between this woman and her guinea pig's hairstyles was captioned: "Me and my Guinea Pig, Poquito. No wig required."
[post_page_title]Fabulous[/post_page_title]
Twinning pictures with pets are impressive in and of themselves, but sometimes, they have that extra edge when they're taken by a professional like Elisabeth Taylor's was. Here's a more up to date example:
[caption id="attachment_1045" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @Kathbum[/caption]
Now that's a doggo that could definitely model if I ever saw one! It looks like it's just wandered out of a celebrity poodle parlor after a fresh cut and blow-dry.
[post_page_title]You Can't Tell The Difference[/post_page_title]
This is another example of a twinning so impressive that, on a first glance, the animal is actually quite difficult to spot. What do you think of this matching do? Personally, I think it's gorgeous - on her and her pooch!
[caption id="attachment_1046" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @LeslieSmith_GF[/caption]
Maybe it's the work of a fantastic stylist, maybe the woman pictured has done their hair like this, but we think these two were born with bona fide swag.
[post_page_title]The Badgers[/post_page_title]
Sometimes, when you twin with your pet, taking selfies together becomes a part of your day to day routine - especially if this pet loves getting in front of the camera was much as you.
[caption id="attachment_1047" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @mrparsley[/caption]
This man and his badger dog take pictures like this every week, he revealed on Twitter. So, on that note, boys, it's time you created an Instagram account!
[post_page_title]Oh Honey![/post_page_title]
Sometimes a dog's name can not only be a perfect description of their personality but their looks too. Take Honey the pup, for example. She looks like she's a little ray of Honey-colored sunshine!
[caption id="attachment_1048" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @MudPatties[/caption]
This picture was captioned: "This was the day I adopted my little pup Honey. Not only did we have the same hair color, but the same look! Although, I don't believe I had a snoogie in my nose like she did!! Lol!"
[post_page_title]Curly Haired Queens[/post_page_title]
Most of the twinning examples we've seen so far on this list have involved owners who've had similar hair colors to their pets. But here's a brilliant example of a pair who matched perfectly in style:
[caption id="attachment_1049" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Taking Care Of Your New Alien[/caption]
This picture of these two gorgeous ladies was captioned on Twitter: "Me and #MsPipes love to coordinate our hair and outfits."
[post_page_title]Uncanny[/post_page_title]
Clearly, some people are drawn toward certain pooches because they see them, and whether knowingly or not, think to themselves: "That doggo is a bit of me!" Case in point...
[caption id="attachment_1050" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @ErinEllseSmith[/caption]
This picture was captioned: "My children informed me that I have Airedale hair. I guess it’s just a true thing that dog owners look like their pets."
[post_page_title]Blones Have More Fun[/post_page_title]
It's often said that blondes have more fun, and the truest testament to this in the animal kingdom are likely golden retrievers, who're famed for their fun-loving and friendly natures!
[caption id="attachment_1051" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @jamiegermond[/caption]
This picture of this dog posing perfectly for the camera (I mean, look at that smile!) and his equally smiley owner was captioned: "Blonde bois!"
[post_page_title]A Dog Or A Wig? You Decide![/post_page_title]
Some dogs have such fabulous hair that it's almost impossible to tell, well, that they are living breathing animals and not wigs attached to leashes. Case in point...
[caption id="attachment_1052" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @lilythepink15[/caption]
If you didn't know better, you might assume that this woman was posing next to a wig, but nope! She's actually twinning with her very fabulous doggo!
[post_page_title]Like Father Like Son[/post_page_title]
At this stage in looking at twinning pet and owner pictures, I'm honestly debating dying my hair a honey color so that it matches my hamsters. Seriously! What is the point in having a pet if you can't do this!
[caption id="attachment_1053" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @tom_aspaul[/caption]
That's the look of a dog that knows he's fabulous if I ever saw one. You keep walking through the park like it's a runway.
[post_page_title]More Blondes Having Fun[/post_page_title]
While golden retrievers might be the first breed that springs to mind when you think of gorgeous blonde dogs, they're far from the only blonde breed that has just as much fun as blonde humans...
[caption id="attachment_1054" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @Kappadeemom[/caption]
That doggo's open-mouthed grin really does say it all. He's happy to be alive, and chilling with his equally happy looking human!
[post_page_title]Spiky Dogs![/post_page_title]
Older women tend to opt for shorter hairstyles as they are a lot easier to maintain once you've well, slowed down a little. But this doesn't mean that you too can't twin with your beloved pooch!
[caption id="attachment_1055" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @brandxit[/caption]
That's a look of love if I ever saw one, and it was captioned: "Bedford and me rocking spiky dos!"
[post_page_title]Matching In More Ways Than One[/post_page_title]
We've seen a lot of owners and doggos match when it comes to hairstyles, but sometimes, very occasionally, a committed owner will take twinning with their pooch to a whole new level.
[caption id="attachment_1065" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @jenniferdeliora1[/caption]
This hilarious snap of a dog in a dressing gown with curlers was captioned: "Matching head to toe! Miss Shadow Pup & Mommy."
[post_page_title]When Your BF Twins With Your Doggo[/post_page_title]
While everyone we've seen on this list so far personally matches their pooch, one person shared a picture of their partner who bore an uncanny resemblance to their pooch.
[caption id="attachment_1072" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @NJDG[/caption]
This picture of a doggo and a man who's likely to be one of his human besties was captioned: "I got a boyfriend who matches my dog does that count?"
[post_page_title]Because You Can't Have Too Much Elizabeth Taylor[/post_page_title]
It turns out that Elizabeth Taylor was such a big doggo lover that when responding to fan mail, she didn't just send signed pictures of herself, she sent signed pictures of her and her pooch. Totally relatable.
[caption id="attachment_1066" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @marissazappas[/caption]
A Twitter user shared this stunning picture with the following caption: "QUEEN!!!!!!!!!!!! In second grade I wrote her love letters and mailed them and she sent this back to me..."
[post_page_title]Another Legend And Her Pooch[/post_page_title]
Elizabeth Taylor, however, is far from the only famous woman to have a truly majestic photograph taken of her twinning with her dog. Ladies and gentlemen and others, I give you Barbara Cartland.
[caption id="attachment_1060" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @NPArchive[/caption]
This snap was captioned: "Another one from the Norman Parkinson archive - English author of romance novels Barbara Cartland, photographed with her Pekinese dog Twi Twi, in 1977."
[post_page_title]When Your Dog Is Bald[/post_page_title]
It's no secret that men, in particular, are partial to hair loss, which can make it nigh impossible to twin with your dog. Unless, of course, you've got a pretty much hairless breed!
[caption id="attachment_1059" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @moniquemadrid[/caption]
This picture was captioned: "My dog barely has hair, so can't [say] the same. But I did once accidentally bought him the same sweater I had already bought @CoreyRittmaster."
[post_page_title]Mopheads For Life[/post_page_title]
When you've got a pretty distinctive hairstyle like dreadlocks, it can feel like the odds are stacked against you when it comes to finding an animal counterpart to twin with, but not necessarily...
[caption id="attachment_1058" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
Credit: Twitter / @CorpusGryphon[/caption]
This hilarious before and after picture (sort of) was captioned: "And now I know what kind of dog I need to get."
