One Amazon worker's slamdunk backfired when it reportedly led to him losing his job.
The former delivery driver was dropping off a parcel when he saw a basketball hoop in the driveway. Thinking he'd have a bit of fun on the job, the driver shot a quick hoop after making his delivery before going on his way.
But in a video he shared on TikTok, the driver claims that multi-billion dollar corporation Amazon was unimpressed with his skills on the court.
In fact, the worker - who goes by Jazzaiha on the social media platform - alleges that he was fired when his bosses found out about the quick slamdunk.
In the clip, he can be seen jogging across the driveway after dropping off his parcel at the front door. He then runs up to the hoop and neatly dunks a ball.
"How I got fired at Amazon," reads the layover text, along with several laughing emojis.
The clip - which is captioned: "This s*** is crazy man!" - has been viewed over 1.6 million times since it was posted earlier this month.
The video has also racked up over 500 comments since it was posted. In one comment, Jazzaiha explained how he got caught out.
"There was a neighbor who caught me on ring camera and snitched on me by posting it on Nextdoor," he explained.
Many people were stunned that he had lost his job over something so small.
"You really got fired for that?" one asked in amazement. Another added: "People really need to get a life man’s was just tryna catch a bucket real quick."
However, others thought that Amazon was justified in letting him go.
"He touched their personal property, which is a covid violation. He def could be fired for this," one wrote.
"It makes sense to me. It's the owner's property. Also, Amazon is liable if the employee gets hurt or breaks something," a second agreed.
Meanwhile, other users were quick to tease the driver for getting fired over something so silly.
"Can't be dunking on the job," wrote one, before another joked: "It’s [because] you didn’t say Kobe."
