Donald Trump has announced that he will launch his own social media platform that he hopes will compete with "big tech".
Both Twitter and Facebook blocked Trump's profile on their respective platforms in the wake of the US Capitol attack on January 6.
The ex-POTUS was accused by many of inciting the deadly insurrection, BBC News reports.
Twitter banned Trump indefinitely, while Facebook said the ex-POTUS would remain suspended until at least January 2023.
Before his profile was taken down, Trump's tweets and posts were often marked as fake news.
In a bid to start afresh, Trump's new company, named Trump Media & Technology Group, will launch its own app called "TRUTH Social", per Reuters.
"I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech. We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced. This is unacceptable," he said in a press release, per BBC News.

The 75-year-old added: "I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon. TMTG was founded with a mission to give a voice to all. I’m excited to soon begin sharing my thoughts on TRUTH Social and to fight back against Big Tech.
"Everyone asks me why doesn’t someone stand up to Big Tech? Well, we will be soon!"
Guests are going to be invited to start testing TRUTH Social in November, and the site will officially launch in 2022.
In May, Trump launched the now-defunct "From The Desk of Donald J Trump" - but the blog site was taken down after less than one month.

In July, Trump announced he is launching a class-action lawsuit against the chief executives of Facebook, Google, and Twitter.
The company is a merger with Digital World Acquisition Corp, will be publicly listed on Nasdaq next month, Reuters reports.
What's more, Trump also intends to roll out a video-on-demand service with entertainment, news, and podcasts.
Since leaving office, he has criticized the bans as an act of political censorship.
Without evidence, Trump has continued to claim that last year's presidential election was rigged against him.
