Emily Willis' brother speaks out after adult star was left ‘permanently paralyzed’

Former adult film star Emily Willis remains in critical condition after being rushed to the hospital, where she continues to fight for her life.
Law enforcement authorities in Thousand Oaks, California, initially reported responding to a potential drug overdose. However, her family members do not agree with that initial assessment, pushing back against the narrative surrounding her sudden medical crisis.
Her younger brother Michael launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover mounting medical expenses as the 25-year-old remains dependent on a ventilator.
Supporters have contributed thousands to assist with the ongoing care costs. Willis entered treatment at a facility in Malibu for a little over a week before suffering a cardiac arrest.
Her father, who is also named Michael, shared that her relatives were preparing for the worst as she remained in a coma.
Family disputes official reports
Her brother addressed the situation directly on the fundraising page to clarify what happened and counter circulating claims. "Regarding the reports of an overdose, we want to clarify that they are not accurate as far as the doctors and my family know," he wrote. "Emily was receiving the treatment and help she needed at the time of the incident to overcome her struggles."
According to her family, Willis checked into the facility because she actively wanted to improve her health and beat her substance abuse problem.
Her father noted that she weighed only 80 pounds prior to entering the center. Her brother emphasized her ambition to move forward, stating: "She retired from the adult industry nearly two years ago and had aspirations of success in other fields of entertainment. Those who worked with her in her new career path knew she had the potential to achieve her dreams."
Road to recovery and online updates
Michael used the fundraising platform to offer heartfelt gratitude to everyone who reached out to support the family during this ordeal.
"Once again, thank you so much for all the kind words and donations. It warms the hearts of her loved ones to know how beloved she is by those who know her. Any kind of support is appreciated, and nothing is expected or taken for granted. Your support gives us strength to endure and remain steadfast for Emily," he wrote.
He added: "We want to express our gratitude to those who have donated, and please know that your generosity will greatly aid in Emily's ongoing recovery process."
He explained that publishing regular updates was essential to address misinformation spreading across social media platforms regarding her status.
"I am posting this update to inform all her friends and fans who are concerned about my sisters wellbeing," her brother Michael wrote. "There has been a lot of misinformation regarding our beloved Emily's condition, and we wanted to clarify her progress and current state. Emily remains in a vegetative coma and is fighting for her life."
The family remains at her bedside as they prepare for a long battle ahead. "We have been by her side as she slowly tries to recover, but it will be a challenging journey ahead. The road to recovery is difficult and uncertain ahead of us, but we are doing everything we can to make sure Emily gets the care and love she needs," he added.
