It seems that some celebrities just can't retire in peace.
Earlier this week, it was 85-year-old Jack Nicholson who was spotted out and about for the first time in months - with many news outlets describing the actor as looking "disheveled" after he was photographed by paparazzi on a balcony in LA.
Fortunately, many of the Hollywood legend's fans took to social media and comments sections to defend the star for, y'know, just looking like an 85-year-old man.
"Dude looks great. We should all be so lucky to be doing so well at 85," one Twitter user wrote, with another adding: "He's 85 and he doesn't look 'disheveled'. He looks like he just woke up from a nice nap you a**holes!"
Now, it is Bridget Fonda's fans who have spoken out in defense of the Jackie Brown star, after she was photographed on what the Daily Mail described as a "rare outing" in Los Angeles and looking "unrecognizable" (a term several other publications have also used in headlines).
The publication adds that the 59-year-old retired from acting back in 2002, and that she was "last seen in September of 2022".
In the snaps, Fonda could be seen wearing a white sweater, black pants, and navy sneakers.
And - like oh so many of us - Fonda did look different from how she did 20 years ago... but social media users were quick to highlight that she looks just as beautiful now as she ever did.
One person commented: "Bridget Fonda, made her name, made her money, now living her best life as she likes without being forced to diet and dye her hair to appease shallow critics. Good on her. We need more Bridgets and less plastic people."
Over on Twitter, even more fans were defending the star, with one person tweeting: "Apparently Bridget Fonda has committed the sin of being spotted in public as a normal looking older woman, and Jack Nicholson looks like an 85 year old man without a team of stylists around him at all times, due in no small part to being an 85 year old man etc etc [...] I hate this!"
Many other tweets called for the paparazzi to "leave Fonda alone".
As well as Jackie Brown, Fonda has also appeared in many beloved titles, including Scandal (1989), The Godfather Part III (1990), Finding Graceland (1998), Lake Placid (1999), and her final movie to date, The Whole Shebang (2001).
Fonda's final acting role was in 2002 when she starred as the Snow Queen in the Hallmark television movie of the same name.
Throughout her career, Fonda has also received two Golden Globe nominations and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination - so it is no surprise that her dedicated fans were so quick to support the star.
