Further details surrounding Ivana Trump's death have been revealed.
The former model and businesswoman sadly passed away on Thursday at the age of 73. A statement from her family described Ivana as "an incredible woman - a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend."
"She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children, and ten grandchildren," they added.
ABC News initially reported that the FDNY said that Manhattan paramedics responded to a call at an Upper East Side apartment where Ivana Trump lived just after 12:30PM on July 14.
Now, the New York Post has reported additional details surrounding Trump's passing.
On Thursday, Trump's personal aide and a cleaning lady had reportedly arrived at the 73-year-old's Upper East Side home. After ringing the door bell and phoning Trump's phone, there was no answer.
The pair then contacted the building's super, but law-enforcement sources say he was unable to open Trump's door due to it being double-locked from the inside.
As concerns continued to grow, a maintenance worker was called to Trump's home, who was able to get the door open.
Sadly, they found Trump's body at the bottom of a staircase and next to a spilled cup of coffee.
The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office has reported that Trump's death has been ruled an "accident" after she suffered "blunt impact injuries" to the torso.
Friends of Ivana told The Post that she had been "unsteady on her feet" and struggling to walk after suffering from hip pain. They added that she sometimes needed the assistance of a person health aide in order to go on walks around the neighborhood.
Ivana Trump is perhaps best known to many for being the first wife of former United States president Donald Trump.
The pair were married from 1977 to 1992, after meeting in New York City when Ivana worked as a model. They shared three children; Donald Trump Jr., 44, Ivanka Trump, 40, and Eric Trump, 38.
Ivana worked for years in Trump's business empire, first as vice president of interior design, and later as president of the Trump’s Castle casino resort in Atlantic City.
Following the news of her passing, the former POTUS said in a statement: "I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City. She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life."
