The 73-year-old actor made a radiant appearance on Sunday, July 13, walking the red carpet at the Smurfs premiere held at the Paramount Theater in Los Angeles.

Looking healthier than ever, Goodman was all smiles as he posed in a sharp navy blue suit, patterned tie, and brown shoes, proudly showing off his slimmed-down frame.

Goodman voices the beloved character Papa Smurf in the new animated reboot, which is set to hit theaters on Friday, July 18. The film also features a star-studded cast including Rihanna, James Corden, Nick Offerman, Daniel Levy, and more.

The Emmy-winning actor has been maintaining his impressive weight loss since beginning his health and fitness journey in 2007, a transformation that has spanned more than a decade.

“I don’t want to be an example to anybody when the weight comes thundering back on, when I start eating Crisco out of the can with a spoon and a side of confectioner's sugar,” he joked in a 2023 interview with AARP.

Looking back on his previous habits, Goodman admitted: “I was just shoving everything into my mouth.” At one point, he weighed nearly 400 pounds.

During a 2011 appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, he revealed, “I was pushing 400” lbs. at his heaviest.

His motivation to turn things around came from a deeply personal place and his desire ‘to live life better.’”

“I know it sounds sappy, but it was a waste,” he told PEOPLE in a previous interview. “It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your ass and figure out what you’re going to eat next.

“I just got tired, sick and tired of looking at myself,” he added. “You’re shaving in the mirror and you don’t want to look at yourself. It gets dangerous.”

To support his transformation, Goodman implemented a series of sustainable lifestyle changes. Along with practicing portion control, he gave up alcohol, started working out regularly, and even hired a health coach to help guide the process.

The result is a healthier, more energized Goodman, and judging by his latest red carpet appearance, he’s never looked better!
