Macaulay Culkin had an emotional reunion with one of his most iconic co-stars during his Hollywood Walk of Fame induction ceremony.
On Friday (December 1), the 43-year-old actor was finally honored for his work in the entertainment industry with a prestigious star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
And the date for the ceremony couldn't have been more fitting - as many of us around the world are gearing up for Christmas and watching some of our most beloved festive movies. Of course, this includes Culkin's 1990 sensation Home Alone and its just-as-enjoyable 1992 sequel, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
In the movies, Culkin plays the lovable child rogue Kevin McCallister, who is mistakingly left home alone over Christmas (yes, that happens twice). In both movies, he must use his wit and intuitiveness to outsmart two bumbling criminals, Harry and Marv.
The movies have become synonymous with Culkin and his career - so fans were overjoyed to see the actor reunited with his on-screen mom from the films during his ceremony on Friday.
Catherine O'Hara, 69, played mom Kate McCallister in the movies, and delivered a heartwarming speech in honor of Culkin at the event. "Home Alone was, is, and always will be a beloved global sensation," she said. "The reason families all over the world can't let a year go by without watching and loving Home Alone together is because of Macaulay Culkin."
Honoring Culkin's "perfect performance" in the movies, O'Hara continued: "I know you worked really hard, I know you did, but you made acting look like the most natural thing in the world to do."
Praising Culkin's "sweet and twisted, yet totally relatable" comic delivery, O'Hara added: "It's a sign of intelligence in a child and a key to survival at any age."
"Macaulay, congratulations," O'Hara proudly declared. "You so deserve your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And thank you for including me, your fake mom who left you home alone not once but twice, to share in this happy occasion. I'm so proud of you."
After delivering her speech, O'Hara and Culkin shared a hug at the podium, as he wiped away tears from his eyes.
And social media was abuzz at seeing the two Home Alone stars reunite. Over on X (formerly known as Twitter), one person wrote: "This got me feeling like I'm chopping onions".
And a second added: "This is, honestly, one of the sweetest things I've ever seen."
Congratulations to Culkin for the incredible honor! And thank you for all the amazing memories.
