Kylie Jenner fans are speculating that the reality star may have quietly ended her relationship with actor Timothée Chalamet after a series of subtle clues appeared online.
The pair, who began dating in 2023, have kept their romance largely private, avoiding much discussion on The Kardashians and limiting their public appearances together. Even so, they have been seen supporting each other at major events, including the Golden Globes, and have been photographed on red carpets. Their relationship has also included more casual outings, from date nights at Beyoncé’s concerts to cheering in the stands at the US Open.
Over the weekend, Kylie celebrated her 28th birthday surrounded by friends and family, but Timothée was noticeably absent. Soon after, she posted a string of Instagram Stories featuring breakup ballads, including Jeff Buckley’s 'Lover, You Should’ve Come Over' and Labi Saffre’s 'Crying, Laughing, Loving, Lying'. On one of the posts, she added a cryptic caption: “And don’t come for me with the volume, it’s connected to my car speakers,” without explaining why she chose the song.
Longtime followers quickly connected the dots, noting that Kylie had also posted breakup songs in the past, particularly following her split from rapper Travis Scott. Many interpreted the music choice as a possible sign that things with Timothée had ended. “Obviously could mean nothing, but I don’t post breakup songs casually myself. Hoping it’s nothing though!!” one fan wrote on Reddit.
Another added: “The first sign of her breakup with Travis was random breakup songs. Definitely feels like a yearning thing.”
Still, not everyone was convinced. Some suggested that the song selections might have been influenced by Timothée himself, pointing out that a Jeff Buckley documentary had just been released. Others argued the tracks could simply be part of a social media trend, with one fan noting that one of the songs had been popular on TikTok for weeks.
One commenter suggested Kylie’s posts may be deliberate, regardless of her actual relationship status: “Not saying they did break up, but everything is calculated with Kylie. She knows what people are going to assume.” Another highlighted that she had posted the Labi Saffre track twice, possibly to emphasize she was actively listening to it.
As speculation continues, Timothée is currently far from home, filming Dune: Part Three in Budapest. The Oscar-nominated actor reprises his role as Paul Atreides, the central figure in the sci-fi epic based on Frank Herbert’s acclaimed novels. Whether his absence and Kylie’s playlist are connected remains unclear, but fans are watching closely for the next sign.
