Police reveal new details after Hayden Panettiere’s sudden death aged 36
The sudden death of actress Hayden Panettiere has left many in shock as authorities continue their work to understand what happened. The 36-year-old performer, known for her roles in popular projects like Heroes and Scream, was found unresponsive at a residence in South Carolina on Sunday, August 16.
Her representatives have confirmed the news of her passing and are working with officials to determine the cause. The actress had reportedly traveled from Los Angeles to Greenville just one day before the incident occurred.
Police provide statement on investigation
According to the Greenville Police Department, officers were called to the scene at approximately 1:50PM on Sunday after an acquaintance of the actress placed a 911 call. Despite attempts by emergency personnel to provide medical aid, she was pronounced dead at the location.
Per NBC News, the police have stated that their preliminary findings do not suggest any foul play or suspicious activity. The Greenville Police Department is currently working alongside the Greenville County Coroner’s Office to complete the inquiry.
Kasey Kitchen, a representative for the late actress, indicated that more information may be available soon, stating, "There's an investigation ongoing. We should know more tomorrow."
Remembering her career and legacy
Panettiere began her professional career at an early age, appearing in a commercial when she was only 11 months old. By age four, she had secured a role on the soap opera One Life to Live, followed by a four-year run on Guiding Light.
She later provided the voice for Princess Dot in the feature film A Bug's Life at age nine, earning nominations for both a Grammy Award and a Young Artist Award.
Many fans recognize her best for her portrayal of Claire Bennet, a high school cheerleader with healing abilities, in the NBC series Heroes. Her work also included six seasons on the musical drama Nashville, as well as roles in films such as Scream 4, Remember the Titans, and Raising Helen.
Her father, Skip, shared a brief message asking for privacy during this difficult time. He provided a statement regarding his daughter, saying: “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”
