His career began in the late 1960s before he achieved his breakout role in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Although critics initially ignored the movie, it gained a devoted following as a midnight movie event.
Breakout success and career highlights
Following his initial success, Curry went on to play several memorable characters across film and television. Audiences recognized him as the terrifying clown Pennywise in the 1990 adaptation of Stephen King's It, as well as Mr. Hector in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
