The Weeknd has shown just how dedicated he is to his loyal fans after surprising a young boy whose picture went viral this week.

As reported by CBC News, six-year-old Phoenix Prince was overjoyed as he was lining up with other concert-goers to watch The Weeknd perform at the Rogers Center in Toronto, Canada, on July 9.

However, the young boy's elation soon turned to heartbreak as it was announced that the concert had to be postponed. The news left Phoenix in tears. The show was a part of the 32-year-old hitmaker's After Hours til Dawn Tour, with The Weeknd announcing the news himself on Twitter, writing:

"I'm crushed and heartbroken. Been at the venue all day but it's out of our hands because of the Rogers outage. Operations and safety are compromised and I tried my absolute best.

"This one hurts the most, and we will make this show happen, but unfortunately not tonight. I know how long you've been waiting and how hard a lot of you worked to make it to the show and experience this special moment with me. I can't wait to see you all."

The youngster's disappointment was caught on camera, as he was photographed by a passerby outside of the venue having to be consoled by his father, Blake Prince - all while dressed as The Weeknd from the singer's 'Blinding Lights' music video.

Dad Blake told CDC: "Phoenix was getting attention with his suit. We had a breakdown moment. He got upset over the fact the show was postponed and somebody captured a picture."

After the image was shared on social media, it soon went viral, before it was eventually seen by The Weeknd himself.

The singer retweeted the image, along with the caption: "can someone please find him for me?"

Eager to put things right for the young boy, the internet pulled through, and images have now emerged on Twitter of Phoenix meeting his idol at a show in Philadelphia on Thursday (July 14).

Once again donning his Weeknd-inspired outfit, pictures show the singer posing with the young boy and even signing Phoenix's jacket.

Phoenix even surprised The Weeknd was an adorable drawing - which, looking at the photos, the chart-topper absolutely loved:

Despite the original show postponing being out of The Weeknd's hands - it's amazing to see the lengths he's willing to go to make sure his fans are happy. And I'm sure these are memories Phoenix will remember for the rest of his life!
