Almost eight months after he tragically passed away, Lil Keed's cause of death has finally been confirmed by a coroner.

Back in May 2022, the 24-year-old was hospitalized after complaining of stomach and back pains as per reports from TMZ.

The outlet claimed that the YSL label rapper had battled with alcohol and drugs over the years, but had been clean and sober leading up to his admission to a medical facility in Los Angeles.

Sources added that the 'Take It To Trial' rapper's condition only got worse from there with his liver and kidneys "starting to fail."

Unfortunately, Keed passed away shortly after.

At the time, Quana Bandz, Keed's girlfriend and mom to the couple's child Naychur expressed her sadness over the sudden news.

"I love you sooooo much baby. What I’m post to do without you I can’t breathe right sleep right nothing I don’t even wanna talk to nobody Keed I can’t take this," (sic) she started writing under a series of cute videos of the pair. "My Mind is lost baby. You told me everything I’m sooooo sorry I didn’t fly to LA I know I could’ve saved you baby you really showed me all you needed was MY LOVE you gave me that I gave you that."

The heartbroken mother also revealed that she was expecting another child, adding that she hopes it's a boy so it can be Keed's "first junior."

While no official cause was revealed at the time, eight months later, a coroner has now confirmed what led to the young artist's death.

Speaking to PEOPLE, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner ruled that he died of natural causes due to eosinophilia.

The Mayo Clinic defines eosinophilia as a "higher than normal level of eosinophils" which "are a type of disease-fighting white blood cell. This condition most often indicates a parasitic infection, an allergic reaction, or cancer."

According to an autopsy report obtained by the outlet, it was determined that while they know what killed the rapper, the cause of the actual condition still remains unclear.

The report also stated that the 24-year-old rapper had "been sick in bed for 4 days with complaints of stomach and back pains."

"His brother noted that the decedent's eyes were jaundiced and drove him to the hospital in a private vehicle," it later added.

Lil Keed suffered a seizure on the way to the hospital "before going unresponsive."

He later died at the hospital at 10:14 PM that same day.

It was also reported that  Keed previously visited a hospital in Georgia for stomach pains last year, but "left against medical advice and did not seek follow-up care," according to the coroner.

They also noted that the rapper frequently drank alcohol and smoked a vape pen, with his family adding that he did not take drugs or have other medical conditions, per People.
Rest in peace. Our thoughts are with the artist's family and friends while they mourn the loss of their loved one.
