A Missouri man has been accused of killing his wife and writing a disturbing word on her body in blood.
John Wonder was arrested on Friday after it was discovered that he had allegedly murdered his estranged wife, who has now been identified by family members as Ashli Ehrhardt, at their home in Kansas City.
The crime was only discovered after the couple's boss sent for a welfare check as both employees failed to show up to work that day according to a probable cause statement reviewed by PEOPLE.

As per the statement, Ehrhardt’s body was found in the laundry room next to a "large butcher knife and a cleaver." She was described as being "nude from the waist down," with his last name, "Wonder", written in blood on her leg.
When she was found, she also had a belt wrapped around her neck and was bleeding from several puncture wounds on her body.
The suspect and victim were in the midst of a divorce when the murder occurred.
It was also reported by the outlet that the 31-year-old sent out some messages after allegedly committing the heinous crime.

Speaking to the authorities after the incident, Wonder’s sister and a friend stated that they received strange messages from Wonder on Friday, the day of the killing.
"For the record: it’s way easier and much more satisfying than you can imagine. See you around," he allegedly text his sister following the killing, according to the statement.
Wonder then reportedly took to Facebook to message his friend.
"I keep thinking about how she never screamed," he allegedly wrote on the social media platform. "Just took it like a champ. What a gal. To honor her. I will not go out by a gunshot [suicide by cop] but by, hopefully a similar fate as Ashli."
In an earlier message he also apparently described himself as "depleted” saying that he set her "gemstones" by her body.
"Her thirdeye shakra, her moonstone, blah blah blah – a lot of good they did you, hun," he allegedly wrote, as per the statement.
After she was identified as the victim of the murder, Ehrhardt’s mother took to Facebook to post a heartwrenching tribute to her late daughter, emphasizing that her "heart is completely shattered."
"This is a post no parent wants to make," she started the post. "Several of you have heard already or seen the news. Closest family and friends have been surrounding us. My heart is completely shattered.. my daughter, Ashli Ehrhardt Wonder was senselessly murdered in her home Friday.
"She is the beautiful young woman that gave us our beloved grandbabies, who are safe and in our care," she continued. "I am not able to share the details past that at this time for many reasons. I appreciate everyone that has reached out and am grateful that you continue to do so. This journey of losing a child in this way is going to be very long."
The heartbroken mom also added: "This little tiny boy, was told today that he would never see his mommy again. This is the mommy fountain that he has already created in her memory.
"We will make sure she is remembered in our home every single minute of every single day," she concluded before posting a few pictures of her daughter as well as her son.
According to a report by KSHB, the couple shared two children who are two and four years old.
Our thoughts are with Ehrhardt’s loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
