Patrick Mahomes' little brother was allegedly caught up in the chaos in the Kansas City Chiefs parade following a shooting - but a witness has shared a heartwarming tale from the tragedy.
The chaos unfolded shortly after 3:30PM on Wednesday at Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri. According to Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves, three gunmen opened fire, causing mayhem at what was meant to be a celebratory affair.
Despite the presence of over 800 police officers, the gunmen managed to inflict significant harm. Tragically, one victim lost their life, while 22 others sustained injuries.
The fatality was Lisa Lopez-Galvan, known for her role as a DJ at KKFI and a much-loved member of her community. The radio station mourned her loss on Facebook, describing her as a "beautiful person" whose life was senselessly taken.

In the aftermath of the shooting incident at the Kansas City parade, eyewitness Jess revealed that Jackson Mahomes, brother of Chiefs' star Patrick Mahomes, was at the scene.
In a tweet that has since gone viral, Jess commends Jackson's actions, as cited by TMZ: "I don’t care what anyone says but I have found a new found respect for Jackson Mahomes, Ana and I were stuck hiding with him at union station by the trains and he was taking care of a child who lost his parents and helping him calm down."
While details beyond Jess's account remain scarce, the story of Jackson's involvement is rapidly spreading, with many expressing astonishment at his presence during the chaotic events.
Jess' X account has since been made private.
As gunfire erupted, the Chiefs' players and staff had already departed, making Jackson's reported presence all the more unexpected.

According to Jess, he not only remained on the scene but also extended assistance to those most vulnerable and distressed, including the child who had lost his parents.
Contrary to assumptions that Jackson had left with the team earlier, Jess's testimony suggests otherwise, indicating that he stayed amidst the unfolding crisis.
The eyewitness account paints a harrowing picture of the moment, with Jess describing scenes of panic and desperation.
"We heard pops and then we saw everyone rushing running crying headed towards where I was standing in panic and we had to jump over the gates by the stage and entrance of Union Station running for our lives in union station hearing gunshots seeing people HIDING IN OVENS!" she recounted.

While the Chiefs organization confirmed the safety of all players, coaches, and staff members, Jackson's reported involvement raises questions about the extent of their awareness.
Nevertheless, Jess appears adamant in her assertion of Jackson's presence and actions during the incident.
According to Sky News, two people have been arrested in connection with the shooting.
A video capturing bystanders subduing a suspect suggests the retrieval and disposal of a firearm, yet the motive behind the shooting remains unknown, per TMZ.
