The host of an illegal hot tub party in England told police that they did not that there was a pandemic.
Officers from Gosport Police, Hampshire, were alerted to the illegal party, but when they arrived at the scene, the host made the unusual decision to deny all knowledge of the ongoing pandemic.
A spokesperson on Twitter said that the person was almost arrested after they refused to give their name to the police.
Gosport Police wrote: "REPORTED! Last night persons were reported for breaching COVID-19 regulations, after holding a hot tub party in the back garden. One occupant claimed they were unaware of the global pandemic, and he was almost arrested after refusing to provide his details! #WeAreInThisTogether"
In the UK, under current lockdown restrictions, people have to stay at home unless they are providing essential care, shopping for groceries, attending work, or exercising.
This comes after police raided another gathering in London, a rave which took place under railway arches in Hackney, at around 1.30 am on Sunday morning (24 January), per the Met Police.
Police made a number of failed attempts to contact the organizers, and they went on to lock the doors from the inside to prevent law enforcement from entering.
It has been reported that 78 people were issued with fixed penalty notices for £200 ($273) each.
Dozens of people who had been attending escaped law enforcement by jumping over police and fences.
Chief Superintendent Roy Smith, who attended the incident, said: "This was a serious and blatant breach of the public health regulations and the law in relation to unlicensed music events.
"Officers were forced, yet again, to put their own health at risk to deal with a large group of incredibly selfish people who were tightly packed together in a confined space - providing an ideal opportunity for this deadly virus to spread."

Superintendent Smith continued: "Our frontline officers continue to police this public health crisis with compassion and professionalism but it is completely unacceptable they have to face such needless risks to their own health and to their families too.
"Whilst we will always seek to engage and explain, the message to those who have a total disregard for the safety of others and breach the law so blatantly is clear, our officers will act swiftly and decisively.
"Not just organizers, but all those present at such illegal parties can expect to be issued a fine."
