As millions around the world tuned in to watch the funeral of Prince Philip, viewers could only watch as the Royal Family said a final farewell to the late Duke of Edinburgh in an intimate family ceremony.
As the ceremony unfolded, people took to social media to provide their thoughts and feelings on the somber occasion.
From the reunion of brothers Prince Harry and Prince William following the groundbreaking Oprah interview last month, to the Queen sitting alone as said goodbye to her husband of 73 years, people on social media wanted the Royal Family to know they were not alone and had the nation's full support.
However, one photograph of the Duchess of Cambridge has now circulated across social media, with Kate Middleton being showered with praise.
The image was captured by photographer Chris Jackson, who captured Kate, 39, staring directly into the camera as she arrived by car to the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh at Windsor Castle on Saturday (April 17).
Despite a mask covering her face, the Duchess is a vision of grace and beauty on what was a solemn day for her family and the nation as a whole.
Jackson would later share the image to his personal Twitter account, along with the caption: "The Duchess of Cambridge leaves Windsor Castle to join the procession to St George’s Chapel at HRH The Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral today."
The post has since amassed nearly 12,000 likes and almost 1,000 retweets as of this writing - with the image being shared on multiple social media platforms and published in various outlets.
Responding to Jackson's post directly, one person wrote: "Stunning photo and will be seen many, many times over the years to come."
A second supporter wrote: "This photo will be iconic. Well done, Chris. It’s stunning."
A third replied: "What's noteworthy is that she doesn't even try - this is just her. She's simply sitting in a car, looking out the window. She truly has no idea how beautiful she is. This is an otherworldly photo."
"This is by far the best and most poignant picture of Catherine, it's regal, dignified and expresses without words the world we are currently living in," typed another social media user.
A fifth typed: "The epitome of Royalty, without even trying, she is a natural future Queen Consort respectful of traditions, rules and protocol and very dignified."
Another Twitter user wrote: "A whole role model. Innate class and grace Always beautiful and impeccable".
And the praise online continued, as people were captivated by the stunning image of the future Queen Consort:
The Duchess of Cambridge also paid tribute to both the Queen and Princess Diana by wearing a pearl choker previously worn by the two royals in the past.
In a further nod to their enduring marriage, Kate had previously worn the statement jewelry piece to a celebration dinner to commemorate the 70th wedding anniversary of the Queen and Prince Philip back in 2017.

Kate's sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, was sadly unable to attend the ceremony under the guidance of her physicians - but People did confirm that the Duchess of Sussex watched the ceremony from her home in Montecito, California.
