Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, have stirred significant attention during their state visit to the UK.
The pair arrived in Windsor on September 17, 2025, where they were greeted by Prince William and Kate Middleton before meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Specifically, her large, wide-brimmed hat became a focal point of discussion.
Many users remarked on the hat’s striking design, with one X user writing: "Melania’s got the 'don’t come f****** near me' hat on."
Others questioned its purpose, with one person asking: "Covering more than half her face. Why??"
In addition to her hat, some eagle-eyed observers also noticed a symbolic color choice in the couple’s outfits.
Trump was seen wearing a purple tie, while Melania donned a matching purple hat.

The meeting with the Prince and Princess of Wales was scheduled for 12:00PM, but President Trump’s Marine One helicopter was still hovering over Windsor at around 12:10PM.
By the time Trump and Melania stepped out of the helicopter at 12:16PM, they had already delayed the event.
After making their late arrival, the couple was escorted by William and Kate to meet King Charles and Queen Camilla.
The formality of the event continued as they were taken to Victoria House for introductions before heading to a military inspection at Windsor Castle.

One of the most significant protocol breaches occurred during the military inspection, where President Trump broke an important royal tradition.
According to royal custom, those meeting King Charles are expected to walk behind him, in accordance with their rank and place in the line of succession.
However, Trump marched ahead of the King, leaving many royal watchers shocked.

Trump is due to return to the U.S. on September 18.
