Princess Eugenie reveals name and photo of newborn son

Princess Eugenie has shared the name of her newborn son as well as a photo of him.

Taking to Instagram today, the 30-year-old shared with her 1.3 million followers on the platform that her baby boy is called August Philip Hawke Brooksbank. She also shared a photo of him for the first time since his birth on February 9.

In the photo, Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank - also the father of her son - and their little one can be seen.

The new parents are seen looking at the camera smiling while Brooksbank holds his sleeping son - the Queen's ninth great-grandchild - who is wrapped in a blue blanket.

Eugenie wrote in the caption:

"We wanted to introduce you to August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.. 

"Thank you for so many wonderful messages. Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can't express. We are excited to be able to share these photos with you.⁣

"By our wonderful midwife. Thank you to the wonderful essential workers including our midwife who came to discharge our boy."

Many have since taken to the comments to congratulate the pair.

One person wrote: "He’s absolutely beautiful!! Thank you for sharing these photos of your precious family!! Wishing you all the best!!"

Another added: "Congratulations. He’s beautiful and you look amazing too! Nothing better than a new baby boy. (I have 5 sons!) You’re in for a great adventure."

A third commented: "Congratulations and Welcome to Baby August!"

The Royal Family's official Twitter account has since reposted the image and shared the baby's name with its 4.3 million followers.

It wrote:

"Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank have announced that they have named their son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.

"The couple have been touched by the well wishes they have received on the birth of their first child, and are delighted to share this first photo as a family."

As reported by Sky News, when he was born earlier this month, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank was 11th in line to the throne. However, after it emerged that Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex was expecting her second child with Prince Harry, he became 12th in line.
