The Royal Family has shared never-before-seen pictures of Prince Philip.
In the wake of the death of the Duke of Edinburgh at the age of 99 on Friday, April 9, the official Twitter account of the British Royal Family shared an until-now private image of the late husband of Queen Elizabeth.
The picture in question was taken by Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge and wife of Prince William, at Balmoral Castle in Scotland back in 2018.
It shows Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip sitting on a sofa chair, surrounded by their many happy great-grandchildren.
These include Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, the children of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Mia and Lena Philips, the daughters the son of Princess Anne Peter Phillips, and their cousins Isla and Savannah Philips.
On Wednesday, April 14, the official Twitter account of the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall shared an image of the late Duke and his son Prince Charles playing polo on horseback.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have also shared a previously-unseen picture of Prince Philip, taken at Balmoral castle back in 2015, which shows the Duke with Queen Elizabeth, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Princess Eugenie, the daughter of Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York, later took to Instagram to thank her 1.4 million followers for their tributes and support in the royal family's time of grief.
Uploading a picture of herself and her sister Beatrice alongside the late Duke, she captioned the post: "Dearest Grandpa. We all miss you. You would be so touched by all the tributes that have been shared with me the past few days."
The caption continued:
"People remember sitting next to you at a dinner, or shaking your hand once, who remember you saying hello in passing, or remember how much their DofE award meant to them.
"I remember learning how to cook, how to paint, what to read. I remember laughing at your jokes and asking about your spectacular life and service in the navy. "I remember incinerating the sausages and you swooping in to save the day. I remember your hands and your laugh and your favorite beer. I will remember you in your children, your grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
"Thank you for your dedication and love for us all and especially Granny, who we will look after for you. With all my love, Eugenie. [sic]"
A number of Twitter users have since taken to social media to share their reactions to the photographs and pay tribute to the spouse of the reigning monarch.
For instance, one person wrote: "Such a beautiful moment. Thank you for sharing this lovely photo with us. It’s truly touched our hearts."
Meanwhile, someone else wrote: "Beautiful family picture of two amazing consorts; present and future and potentially 3 Monarchs.

Another person wrote: "What a beautiful photo. Looks like Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have some wonderful photos to remember their great-granddad, Prince Philip, by.
