Joe Biden has mocked Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy during a recent press conference after the journalist asked the president-elect about his son, Hunter Biden.

Per The Hill, the incident in question occurred on Tuesday night (December 22), while the President-elect was speaking to TV and news reporters in Wilmington, Delaware.

Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy repeatedly badgered the former Veep with questions regarding the federal investigation into his son Hunter Biden.

For instance, at one point Doocy asked: "Mr. President-elect, do you still think that the stories from the fall about your son Hunter were Russian disinformation and a smear campaign like you said?"

A seemingly-amused Biden laughed and replied:

"Yes, yes, yes. God love you, man. You're a one-horse pony. I promise you my Justice Department will be totally on its own, making its judgments about how they should proceed."

Biden, 78, went on to add: "I guarantee you I am going to do what I said.

"The attorney general of the United States of America is not the president’s lawyer. I will appoint someone who I expect to enforce the law as the law is written, not guided by me."

Hunter Biden, a former investment advisor, has been the subject of numerous (largely unverified) conspiracy theories advanced by incumbent President Donald Trump in the wake of the 2020 US Presidential Election.

According to a 2014 article published in The New York Post (which has largely been met with skepticism from other news sources) Hunter Biden allegedly engaged in corrupt business dealings with the Ukrainian gas company Burisma during the Obama administration.

Conspiracists claim that Joe Biden withheld loan guarantees while Vice President in a bid to pressure Ukraine into firing a prosecutor to prevent an investigation that might harm his son.

In a statement made to CNN on Wednesday, December 9, Hunter Biden confirmed that Delaware federal prosecutors, together with the IRS and the FBI, had launched an investigation into his prior business dealings.

Biden stated: "I learned yesterday for the first time that the U.S. Attorney's Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs.

"I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors."
