It's an established fact that you don't meet many people who don't like Beyoncé. You just don't.
Of course, it's a given that not everyone is a loyal member of the Beyhive. However, it seems pretty difficult these days to find someone who actively speaks out about their dislike of the Crazy In Love singer. Well, until recently, that is.
It appears that American rapper Azealia Banks is not a fan of Beyoncé at all, this highlighted by her recent accusations on social media. In a shocking Instagram post this week, Azealia claimed that the 36-year-old star was a "regular b***h" and accused her of stealing choreography from other artists.
A series of Instagram Stories saw the 212 performer slam the star, saying that she loved to push female empowerment, but was always plagiarising material from "talented women". Referring to Beyoncé by both her first and middle names, Azealia wrote: "Like Beyonce always loves to push this female empowerment s**t but is just ALWAYS trying to steal from talented women and out do them.. but she really never does. It always looks like Giselle [Beyonce’s middle name] doing her best Beyonce impression. I really hope she gets real with herself soon and humbles herself enough to accept the visions and full projects women who admire her put together FOR HER [sic]."
The 27-year-old also took the opportunity to throw some shade at the Single Ladies songstress' fashion choices, writing: "Like we don’t need anymore Beyonce thot moments. no one needs Beyonce doing #ootd’s like she some up and coming fashion toast b***h. It’s like what next? Beyonce’s fashion nova collaboration???? I have NO CLUE why she wants to be a regular b***h. It makes me sad [sic]."
However, it seems the New York-based rapper may be willing to let go of her gripes with the singer on one condition: that Beyoncé hire her. Azealia added in a story: "I realise that my ex-dancer Ashanti choreographed for Beyonce and stole the original choreography @gypjaq made for count contessa. Beyonce needs to get over herself and just hire me cause even though Coachella was cute…it was still more of the same."
Unsurprisingly, fans were not impressed with Azealia's online rant against their Queen, and were quick to step in to defend Beyoncé from any allegations.
"Azealia Banks is really talking about Beyoncé not being here for women empowerment.. when Beyoncé CONSTANTLY empowers women.. and Azealia makes headlines for tearing women down. Hmm. Okay," wrote Twitter user @trulykaya.
She was joined by fellow social media user @snacktavist, who clapped back at Azealia, putting "Azealia Banks... Sigh. You know exactly what’s going to happen when you come for Beyoncé. She’s going to ignore you, and her fans are going to rip you apart."
There has been no reply from Beyoncé herself yet on the allegations. So, will Queen Bey bite back? Or will she maintain a dignified silence on the matter? Watch this space.
