The body of a missing TikToker has been discovered near the Walmart where she was last seen a week ago.
Minelys Zoe Rodriguez-Ramirez was last spotted at the store in Cornelia, Georgia, on October 22, 2024.
According to Now Habersham News, the 25-year-old sent her final message to her fiancé Julio Tovor at around 9:30PM, writing: “I am waiting for the brother to pick him up." Tovor felt something was wrong as the text "didn’t make sense" because she "doesn’t talk like that," per the outlet.
Rodriguez-Ramirez, who was the mother of a nine-year-old daughter, had a TikTok page where she posted a variety of Spanish-speaking videos. She moved to the US from Puerto Rico six years ago after being hired at a job in a nearby manufacturer Mt. Vernon Hills Inc.
The mom-of-one went to Walmart to exchange a photo with an acquaintance, the publication reported. A cashier said they saw her enter the store at the same time she sent her final message.
She was reported missing by her family on October 23 and a community-wide alert was soon made public. Her loved ones appealed for answers as authorities launched a search, which soon uncovered her vehicle pulled over to the side of a road near the Walmart.
Now Habersham also reported that witnesses saw a dark-colored SUV and a gold or yellow minivan next to Rodriguez-Ramirez's vehicle at some point.
The tragic search came to a close after human remains were recovered in a “remote area” by the sheriff’s department, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, according to law enforcement and Fox 5 Atlanta.
Officials believe the remains - which were seen on Furniture Drive, a road that runs parallel with the Walmart parking lot - belong to the TikToker due to her tattoos and clothing description, however, a full autopsy will be performed to confirm the identity.
A suspect named Angel DeJesus Rivera-Sanches, 24, was arrested on Monday (October 28) and charged with kidnapping related to Rodriguez-Ramirez's disappearance.
He was booked into the Habersham County Detention Center. No cause of death or motive has been revealed yet.
Our thoughts are with Rodriguez-Ramirez's loved ones at this time.
