A heart-stopping video shows the moment a bridge split apart during intense flooding that comes as a result of Storm Eta.
Amber Roberts, who is a reporter for Fox 46 in Charlotte, North Carolina, was standing on Hiddenite Bridge with photojournalist Jon Monte to deliver a report on the effects of intense flooding caused by Storm Eta in Alexander County.
As the footage shows the impact of the deluge of water, a section of the bridge suddenly splits and collapses, while a pedestrian on the other side of the split turns and starts to run in the opposite direction.

"This road, this bridge, is literally sinking," Roberts was saying in her report, pointing out a section of the bridge that appeared to be buckling under the strain, "Take a look at the ground, you can see it caving in."
She continued speaking, but was then interrupted by the bridge splitting apart. "This is incredibly scary," she shouted as the bridge gave way. "OK, we're backing up, we're backing up. Just right here, live on TV, we saw the road collapse, that same road that we were just standing on seconds ago, so thank God that we are backing up."
On another news report several hours later, Roberts made an appearance to discuss what had happened.
"It was definitely a scary situation for me and my photojournalist," she said, standing outside in the same area. "We just had to be calm in the moment, to step back and hope for the best, and thankfully we are OK, but what is far from OK is this road."

Sharing the video to Twitter, Roberts wrote, "I am SO #thankful me and my @FOX46News #photojournalist, @JonMonteFOX46 are okay. I'm sending #prayers up to the people of #Alexander #County impacted by today's #flooding."
Senior news producer Janet Parker also took to Twitter to respond to the dramatic footage. She wrote:
"**HEART STOPPING VIDEO** This was terrifying to watch today. Thankful @AmberFOX46mand @JonMonteFOX46 are ok. They were just inches away from a bridge collapsing from floodwaters. Flooding can be catastrophic in a second. Praying for the families mourning in Alexander Co tonight."
