British woman who just moved to Florida shares one thing that is 'much worse' in the USA
A British woman who moved to Florida has shared a scathing review of one thing she found "dramatically worse" than she'd anticipated about moving to the US.
For many Brits, moving to America can seem like they gateway to a better life, particularly if they're ditching rainy England for one of the sunshine states.
But, with any change of scenery, there's going to be certain things that take some getting used to and culture clashes are bound to arise.
A TikToker who has charted their move stateside under the handle brits.inthesunshinestate revealed one thing she has really been struggling with in the four months she's lived in Florida.
Taking to social media, she told her followers: "What's the one thing that's been way worse than we thought it would be since we moved from the UK to Florida?
"So we moved to Florida from the UK four months ago and the one thing that has been the most dramatically worse than we actually anticipated was the drivers. Floridians are wild."
She explained: "So whether that means you either are a Florida native - because people like to remind me that some of you guys are natives and that you don't drive that way - whether you're a transplant like me and come from another country to live here, or from another state to come and live here, or you are a tourist, or you are a snowbird who's come down to spend the winter down here because it's warmer than where you live in the northern states of America, you all drive crazy.
"I've never experienced anything like it. The first one is you speed. You guys are speed freaks."
She opened up about how different it is in the UK, explaining: "So in comparison in England, you're on the motorway, the maximum is 70 miles per hour and you've got most people doing below that.
"You'll have someone doing 50, 55, 60 in the slow lane, then everyone doing about 70 in the middle lane, overtaking. And then in the 'fast lane', people may be doing 80. At the most you'll have one or two random drivers that'll do a 90 or 100 just because."
In Florida, she alleges: "Most of the time, everyone is over the speed limit," claiming that even in traffic when all the cars are "moving together", it'll commonly be at least 15 miles over the speed limit despite the volume of traffic.
She also claims that police do the same thing and fly past at speeds far over the limit, and that nobody uses turn signals to let other motorists know where they're going.
"And the way that you guys cut in between lanes is terrifying," she added, revealing you have to fend for yourself because "nobody lets you in" when changing lanes.
She added that she now understands why litigation is so common in the states as car accidents happen frequently.
The expat concluded her video by claiming: "It is a crazy, crazy place," before confirming: "But do I still love it here? Absolutely. And would I move? No."
