The roommate of Charlie Kirk's suspected assassin revealed a chilling message that was sent via Discord, alongside messages on the bullet casings.
The individual, identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson from Utah, was arrested after a tip-off after he allegedly confessed to family members, as reported to BBC News.
This arrest comes after a public plea for information and a subsequent investigation that led to Robinson's apprehension.
An Alleged Chilling Confession and Potential Political Motivation
Tyler Robinson's alleged involvement in the shooting has been confirmed through several sources, including his own confession.
According to the FBI, who spoke during a press conference, Robinson allegedly admitted to his family that he was responsible for the fatal incident.
He had also been seen fleeing the scene after the shooting, as confirmed by security footage from the event.
Robinson, who had reportedly become more politically active in recent years, had made several statements about Kirk and his influence.
He allegedly described Kirk as "spreading hate" during a college event in Utah, which seemed to have influenced his actions.
Chilling Discord Messages
Authorities also found disturbing messages from Robinson's private Discord conversations, where he discussed retrieving a rifle and leaving it at a drop point, per Sky News.
The messages, which were shared with the FBI by Robinson's roommate, detailed the gun that was used in the shooting and explained that it had been left wrapped in a towel.
Engravings on Bullet Casings
During the press conference, the FBI revealed that they had recovered one fired bullet casing, and three unfired.
The engravings read: "Notices bulges owo," while the unfired casings read: "Hey fascist! Catch!", "O Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao" and "if you read this you are gay lmao".
Bella Ciao references an anti-fascist song that Italian forces sang against the occupying troops of Nazi Germany.
Trump Calls for Death Penalty for Robinson
Following Robinson's arrest, President Trump expressed his desire for justice, saying: “I hope he’s going to be found guilty and I hope he gets the death penalty for what he did,” per Fox News.
Trump emphasized Kirk's positive impact, stating: "Everybody liked him," and called him “the finest person” who did not deserve to die.
The Legacy of Charlie Kirk
Charlie Kirk’s death has deeply impacted the conservative community.
As the founder of Turning Point USA, Kirk was well-known for his efforts to engage and mobilize conservative youth on college campuses across the country. His sudden death has left many questioning the growing political polarization in the U.S.
Following his death, Kirk’s body was transported back to Arizona on Air Force Two, with Vice President JD Vance, a close friend of Kirk’s, accompanying the coffin.
President Trump has also indicated he plans to attend the funeral, though a date for the service has yet to be announced.
