A children's book based on chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci is due to be released in bookstores in June later this year.

According to CNN, the non-fiction book, based on the life of the immunologist and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, is due to be released in stores later this summer.

Watch Dr. Fauci deliver a heartwarming Christmas message to kids in the video below:

Published by Simon & Schuster, written by Kate Messner, and illustrated by Alexandra Bye, the book is titled: Dr. Fauci: How a Boy from Brooklyn Became America's Doctor.

The picture book is the latest in a series of non-fiction texts from the publishing house focusing on newsworthy figures like Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

It was published with Dr. Fauci's approval and was written through extensive Zoom interviews with the physician, as well as copious biographical research by author Messner.

In a later interview with CNN Business on the project, Messner stated: "There's so much in his story that will resonate with kids today.

"Riding his Schwinn bicycle around Brooklyn to deliver prescriptions from his dad's pharmacy, playing stickball in the streets of a neighborhood where he learned to get along with all different kinds of people, and always asking questions about the world."

Messner continued: "I was aware that I was asking for time from someone who was literally one of the busiest people in America as he provided public health guidance during the worst of the pandemic.

"But I also knew that Dr. Fauci understands how essential education is in public health."

Messner added: "Before Tony Fauci was America's doctor, he was a kid with a million questions, about everything from the tropical fish in his bedroom to the things he was taught in Sunday school.

"I'm really hopeful that curious kids who read this book — those we're counting on to solve tomorrow's scientific challenges — will see themselves in the pages of Dr. Fauci's story and set their goals just as high."

CNN reports that the book is currently scheduled to be available in bookstores from June 29 onwards.
