New and haunting details continue to emerge surrounding the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

The 31-year-old conservative activist was tragically killed on September 10, 2025.

As the investigation into his death continues, close friends and family have shared their deeply personal accounts of the hours following Kirk's death.

Frank Turek’s Heart-Wrenching Account

Frank Turek, a Christian author and the founder of CrossExamined.org, was standing behind Kirk when the shot rang out.

In a YouTube video and podcast interview, Turek recalled the intense moment of horror and disbelief: "I was standing right behind Charlie when the shot rang out," Turek said.

“I ducked for cover and then scrambled to help him.”

Turek, along with Kirk’s security team, immediately rushed the wounded activist to the hospital.

As they sped to Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem, Turek performed CPR, desperately trying to save his close friend’s life.

"Charlie is laid out right in front of me, and Charlie’s so tall we can’t close the door," Turek explained, describing the dire situation in the back of the car.

Turek repeatedly urged Kirk: “Come on Charlie, come on, come on.”

Meanwhile, security members worked to stem the bleeding from the neck wound.

Despite these heroic efforts, Turek ultimately confirmed that Charlie Kirk had already passed away before they reached the hospital.

“Charlie wasn’t there,” Turek said.

“His eyes were fixed. He wasn’t looking at me; he was looking past me, right into eternity. He was with Jesus already.”

Turek also shared that, despite their best attempts, there was nothing anyone could have done to save Kirk’s life: “There was nothing any of us could do about it. We were giving him CPR but nothing was happening.”

He added: “It wasn’t like if we had better first aid or we had better medical facilities or we were faster to the hospital, we could have saved him. We couldn’t.”

Turek found some comfort in the thought that Kirk’s death was painless: “Charlie didn’t suffer. He was gone, he was with Jesus. Absent from the body, present with the Lord.”
