Donald Trump gives shocking explanation as to why he thinks Hollywood director Rob Reiner was found dead
President Donald Trump has shared a shocking theory about the horrific murder of Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele.
Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 68, were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, December 14, with reports claiming they were found with knife wounds.
The couple’s daughter, Romy, is reported to be the one who found them after the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call for medical aid at about 3:30PM.
Per People, police are investigating the case as a homicide, and law enforcement sources say the injuries on both victims were consistent with knife wounds.
Their 32‑year‑old son, Nick Reiner, has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the deaths.
Court documents show that the 32-year-old was arrested and taken to the Parker Center in Los Angeles on December 15 and that his bail was set at $4 million.
While further details on the pair's deaths have yet to be shared publicly, President Trump left his followers stunned after sharing a completely unfounded theory of his own.
Just hours after the news broke, Trump wrote on Truth Social: "A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood.
"Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.
"He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!"
Unsurprisingly, the comments left many people upset, as singer Bill Madden wrote: "Nobody celebrates the murder of perceived enemies quite like Trump — whose celebration of the murder of Rob Reiner is the most disturbing, deranged, and demented post you'll ever see from a U.S. president."
Others added: "BREAKING: This is the most disgusting Post Donald Trump has ever made. He claims that Rob Reiner was killed 'due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME'. Imagine if I said this about Charlie Kirk."
Another added: "I don't want to hear another sanctimonious word from the Republicans who accused Democrats of not showing enough sadness when Charlie Kirk died. Donald Trump's message about Rob and Michele Reiner's death is a monstrosity."
Many other stars shared meaningful tributes to Reiner, who was known for directing movies including The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally…, and A Few Good Men.
Reiner was also an outspoken advocate of many progressive political beliefs and had voiced his disdain for Trump, calling him "mentally unfit" to be president in a 2017 interview with Variety.
The Reiner's shared three children - Jake, Nick, and Romy.
