Huge twist after TV co-anchors left their partners for one another as their exes make announcement
The exes of former US news co-hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes have made a stunning announcement.
Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig have announced their engagement after their exes, Robach and Holmes, wed in a private ceremony on September 19 in Arkansas.
Speaking to People on Wednesday (October 21), Shue confirmed that he and Fiebig got engaged in the springtime after three years of dating.
The businessman admitted: “I don’t know how it happened, but there’s a happy ending.”
He went on, admitting that he had to come to terms with 'my own part in marriage not working out for me', and that he is now with 'the right person' in Fiebig, 48.
Shue, 59, said that the relationship 'has been an extraordinary gift', further telling Page Six: “Again, I don’t know how it happened, but I can say I’m grateful.”
Fiebig and Shue found each other after their exes got together
Shue, the co-founder of The Forum, said that he 'had to grow through a lot of pain and a lot of struggle and a lot of humility.'
He claimed that 'the magic of love is when you go from a need to giving'.
Reflecting on finding the love of his life, he explained: “You don’t know how you meet the person who’s right for you,
“It just happened. And you can say how it’s just this kind of freak luck that this is how you ended up getting to know that person in a way that would allow you to reveal yourself and for her to reveal herself.”
He admitted that they fell for each other as they were 'able to share ourselves with each other in a time where we both needed a friend.'
The pair started dating in 2023 after their news co-host exes got together, with a source saying at the time: “It turned into something else, and they’re connected over their values. It’s bigger than the affair now.”
Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes' romance was revealed by external sources in November 2022, while Robach was still married to Shue, and Holmes to Fiebig.
The latter couple shares a daughter, Sabine, 13.
As a result of their relationship being exposed, Holmes and Robach were let go from GMA3 in January 2023, with a network spokesman telling the publication that it was 'best for everyone' for them to 'move on' following the drama.
It was confirmed last month that the news reporters tied the knot in an intimate ceremony, which took place just one day after applying for their marriage license.
Robach and Holmes claimed they never cheated
While the couple announced their engagement on their Amy & T.J. podcast in October last year, they have continued to insist that they didn't cheat on their former partners.
Holmes said in December 2023: “To be clear, we were outed as being in a relationship, but everyone else thought we were being outed as adulterers - being outed as cheating on our spouses - and it wasn’t the case.”
He claimed that both of them were in 'divorce proceedings' with Fiebig and Shue at the time they started dating.
