The disturbing discovery that followed has led to a string of serious charges against a 20-year-old man, per PEOPLE.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office responded just after midnight on April 28 to a home in Florence, where a father had called deputies after allegedly finding a stranger - naked from the waist down - in his 13-year-old daughter’s bedroom.

According to the sheriff’s office, “he awoke in the night and heard noises coming from his 13-year-old daughter's room.”

When he opened the door, he found 20-year-old Parker Kramer “lying naked on the floor.”

“After telling the suspect that he was calling the police, the father went downstairs and soon retrieved a handgun,” the sheriff’s release states. That’s when, according to officials, “the suspect pushed past the father and then ran out the front door.”

Wearing only a shirt, Kramer bolted through the front yard, prompting the father to fire three shots “into the ground near the front porch of the residence.”

The incident took place on the 700 block of Brittany Trail, and authorities wasted no time setting up a perimeter, as reported by WKRC.

Despite an initial struggle to locate the suspect, deputies quickly found Kramer’s abandoned car and keys nearby.

That gave them enough to show the father a photo, and he confirmed it was the same man he found in his daughter’s room.

The search intensified with the help of Florence police and a drone, and after two tense hours, officers found Kramer hiding in a wooded area near Mt. Zion Road and Interstate 71/75.

According to Boone County Sheriff's Major Philip Ridgell, Kramer told authorities “he was planning on waiting them out.”

Kramer admitted to police that he drove from Louisville to meet the girl, having communicated with her via a messaging app after the two met in person.

Ridgell added that Kramer has ties to Northern Kentucky.

After the meeting, the girl told Kramer she was 13, and he allegedly told her he was 15 and went to Ryle High School, a local school in the area.

“This wasn't a guessing game where he was tricked,” Ridgell said. “It was apparent the girl was 13 years old.”

Once in custody, Kramer allegedly confessed to making sexual contact with the girl. The Boone County Sheriff's Office said he “made admissions which led to additional r*pe and sodomy charges.”

Kramer now faces charges of burglary, two counts of r*pe in the second degree, and one count of sodomy in the second degree. He remains at the Boone County Jail on a $250,000 cash bond.

Court records show he is scheduled to appear before a judge for a preliminary hearing on May 5. As of April 28, no attorney had been listed for Kramer.

The investigation remains ongoing.
