Two food influencers, who were sitting inside a restaurant reviewing a burger, were suddenly caught in the middle of a car crash.
Nina Santiago, better known as NinaUnrated, and Patrick Blackwood were filming a food review at Cuvee’s Culinary Creations in Houston, Texas, on August 17 when an SUV suddenly crashed through the restaurant’s glass wall, per E! News.
In a viral Instagram video, Nina and Patrick can be seen mid-bite, enjoying a spread of sliders, when the vehicle unexpectedly smashed into their booth, sending glass flying.
Nina fell to the floor, and Patrick nearly landed on top of her while pushing himself off the bench to shield her from the impact.
Though the cause of the crash remains unclear, both influencers are thankful to be alive.
“I’m beyond grateful to be alive after an SUV crashed through the glass wall at Cuvee Culinary Creations in Houston, TX, shattering everything while Patrick Blackwood and I recorded an eating show,” Nina shared on Instagram the following day.
“The vehicle came out of nowhere, but we survived,” she added, posting pictures of the gashes she sustained on her wrist and face.
Reflecting on the incident, Nina also wrote, "This experience showed me who truly matters; life’s too short for grudges or anger. Let go, forgive, live in the now, and cherish those around you, this could’ve been our last meal."
Patrick, too, posted his own update, showing off cuts on his cheek, ear, chest, and arm, one of which required seven staples. “Grateful to see another day, walking away from the small stuff with a big purpose!” he wrote, emphasizing the need to "live bold, love deep, and make every moment count."
The dramatic crash quickly gained attention, with many people expressing their shock and relief that the pair survived the frightening ordeal.
While the footage of the crash went viral, Cuvee’s Culinary Creations also shared the video on their Instagram account, expressing gratitude that no one was seriously injured despite the damage and chaos.
The restaurant echoed Nina and Patrick’s relief, acknowledging that it could have been much worse.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, which police are describing as a "freak accident."
According to TMZ, the driver of the SUV, who remains unidentified, did not appear to be impaired at the time of the crash and did not sustain any injuries.
Early reports suggest the SUV may have malfunctioned or the driver lost control just moments before crashing into the restaurant.
Both Nina and Patrick have long been influential figures in the food and fitness communities.
