Vice President Harris has been in the spotlight recently after President Joe Biden declared that he would not be running for a second term.

Harris is expected to go toe-to-toe with Donald Trump, and with this, an interview that took place earlier this month has resurfaced.

Author Alec Lace has sparked controversy after he suggested that Vice President Kamala Harris advanced her political career through inappropriate means.

During his segment on FOX Business, Lace criticized the Democratic Party and Vice President Harris in particularly harsh terms.

Referring to Harris, he called her the "DEI Vice President" and labeled her the "original Hawk Tuah girl".

"Kamala Harris, she is the original Hawk Tuah girl - that's the way she got where she is, and the party is going downhill if it's in her hands," Lace declared.

This provocative statement compared Harris to Haliey Welch, who gained viral fame for describing a spitting act during an on-street interview.

Fox host Dagen McDowell responded to Lace’s remarks, saying: "That was harsh."

Lace later addressed his comments on social media, writing: "Did I go too far on FOX News calling Kamala Harris the OG Hawk Tuah girl or am I right over the target?"

The segment initially went unnoticed when it aired over the 4th of July weekend. However, it gained traction after Lace retweeted the clip following news of a shift in the Biden administration's dynamics, with Harris stepping into a more prominent role.

In a statement to TMZ, Lace defended his comments, saying: "Kamala Harris and the Biden administration are destroying our country. The last thing I’m worried about is saying the quiet part out loud about how Kamala got where she is today."

He further criticized mainstream media, adding: "I’m more concerned with how the MSM has radicalized people with their dangerous rhetoric about President Donald Trump which almost got him killed."

As Harris embarks on her presidential campaign, former President Trump has already attacked her over her past relationship with former San Francisco mayor Willie Brown.

In his July 4th message, Trump wrote: "Respects to our potentially new Democrat Challenger, Laffin' Kamala Harris."

Trump continued: "She did poorly in the Democrat Nominating process, starting out at Number Two, and ending up defeated and dropping out, even before getting to Iowa, but that doesn't mean she's not a 'highly talented' politician. Just ask her Mentor, the Great Willie Brown of San Francisco."

Throughout her career, Vice President Harris has consistently denied that her relationship with Brown was the defining step in her political career, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The relationship ended decades ago, but Harris has struggled to shed the association with Brown, whom she described as "an albatross hanging around my neck."

When they dated in the mid-1990s, Brown, a prominent lawyer and civil rights leader, was the speaker of the California assembly and regarded as one of the state’s most influential legislators.

Harris, then 29, was an up-and-coming prosecutor in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Their relationship included Brown appointing Harris to two significant positions, which prompted accusations of cronyism.
