During a livestream outside of Disneyland’s iconic castle, a popular Mexican influencer was sexually assaulted, and the man allegedly responsible was later arrested.
Yoatzi Castro accused a man of touching her inappropriately as she posed for a picture with friends.
The man is seen in the video wearing glasses, a light blue shirt, and shorts as he walks past and appears to move his left hand toward her buttocks, prompting her to accuse him of groping her.
Rather than just verbally telling the man off, Yoatzi swiftly punches the man in the back and screams in his face. The man responds by awkwardly mumbling: “I’m sorry, I accidentally just…What are you talking about?”
The influencer, with almost 800,000 followers on Instagram, asked him bluntly why she would make up such an accusation as the man, who was with a female companion pushing a baby stroller, continued walking towards the Disneyland castle gates.
As he retreats into the crowd, Yoatzi can be heard yelling: “That’s disgusting, f***ing pedophile. Disgusting a*****e, disrespecting women.”
She then reported the incident to nearby resort employees.
The man, later identified by police, with Yoatzi's help, as Christopher Poitras, was then arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor sexual battery, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
Public Information Officer Eric Anderson told The New York Post that the influencer claimed “she was groped by this male individual” and provided a description to Disneyland security.
He was quickly hunted down by park security and handed over to the police, who then arrested him. Christopher has since been cited and released.
In the aftermath of the assault, Yoatzi opened up about the incident on social media. She said: “I just felt so insanely violated, and I am honestly so grateful that we were streaming, because if we weren’t streaming, I feel like I would’ve had no evidence, but we had the video.”
The young mom-of-three also said she had an intuition that the man had “done this before” and hopes he never does the same again.
Yoatzi added: “Hopefully he learns his lesson and never does something like this again.”
