Joe Biden has released a statement confirming everything that he will do on his first day in office.
As per the Mirror, a statement from Biden's office ahead of his swearing-in today reads: "Today, hours after taking the oath of office, President-elect Biden will take a historic number of actions to deliver immediate relief for families across America that are struggling in the face of converging crises.
"He will sign a combination of executive orders, memoranda, directives, and letters to take initial steps to address these crises, including by changing the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, providing economic relief, tackling climate change, and advancing racial equity."
At the top of the former vice president's list is tackling the ongoing pandemic - namely, by coordinating America's response and providing relief to those who need it most.
An emotional Joe Biden cries as he departs for Washington:Biden's office continued: "Today, President-elect Biden is launching his '100 Days Masking Challenge,' asking the American people to do their part - their patriotic duty - and mask up for 100 days.
'The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has found that masks "are a critical tool in the fight against COVID-19 that could reduce the spread of the disease".
Other plans for Biden's first day include taking serious action to tackle climate change, and this will involve rejoining the Paris Agreement and undoing Trump's other actions in the area to protect the US.
The 78-year-old former vice president also plans to take immediate action to tackle racial inequality and provide support to communities in need.
The President Elect's statement continued:
"The president-elect’s equity agenda is grounded in advancing racial justice and building back better for communities who have been underserved, including people of color and Americans with disabilities, LGBTQ+ Americans, religious minorities, and rural and urban communities facing persistent poverty."
Biden also plans to reverse Trump's Muslim ban and the 45th president's policy to disclude undocumented immigrants from the national census.
Watch President Trump's farewell address below:The published plan outlined: "The president-elect will sign an Executive Action putting an end to the Muslim Ban, a policy rooted in religious animus and xenophobia
"It repeals Proclamations 9645 and 9983, which restrict entry into the United States from primarily Muslim and African countries, and instructs the State Department to restart visa processing for affected countries and to swiftly develop a proposal to restore fairness and remedy the harms caused by the bans, especially for individuals stuck in the waiver process and those who had immigrant visas denied.
"This is an important step in providing relief to individuals and families harmed by this Trump Administration policy that is inconsistent with American values."
