Joe Biden has branded a crowd of Trump supporters "ugly folks" after they attempted to disrupt his campaign rally by beeping their car horns and chanting.
On Friday, Biden held a campaign rally in a parking lot in St. Paul, Minnesota.
However, footage from the event shows the Democratic presidential nominee struggling to address his invite-only party activists as Trump supporters honk their car horns and shout "Joe's a crook".

While speaking about the "patriotic duty" of wearing face masks, Biden says: "Dr. Fauci called for a mask mandate last week, this isn't a political statement like those ugly folks over there beeping their horns, this is a patriotic duty for God's sake.
The 77-year-old added: "These guys are not very polite but they're like Trump. But look, they're going to be OK. We're going to take care of them as well. We need to come together, made a fight for all these folks.
"There's a reason they don't want to hear me because they know the president doesn't' say anything. So they're used to not hearing anything."
Per the Insider and Daily Mail, a crowd of Trump supporters gathered outside his drive-in rally waving flags and displaying signs supporting the POTUS.

Biden was subsequently attacked on Twitter for his remarks to the hecklers, which came less than a minute after he stated: "We need a president who will bring us together, not pull us apart."

Curtis Houck tweeted: "Listen to the cars honking at Biden's event in St. Paul, Minnesota while he's yelling at the top of his lungs, trying to give us all headaches.
"But then it gets worse as he attacks Trump supporters as 'ugly folks'. Talk about a guy who says he'd represent all Americans!"
Another Twitter user labeled Biden a hypocrite, writing: "Biden is calling Trump supporters deplorable and ugly! I thought he said we are all Americans no left or right!! He is dividing this country not the right! Biden and the left are hypocrites!!!"

Trump also spoke in Minnesota on Friday - a state which has not voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 1972.
