LAPD releases shocking photos of Rob Reiner's son taken during arrest on suspicion of murdering his parents
The Los Angeles Police Department has released a series of arrest photos showing Nick Reiner being taken into custody on suspicion of murdering his parents, acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner.
The images, shared briefly on social media before being removed, offer a visual record of the arrest that followed the shocking discovery of the couple’s bodies inside their Brentwood home.
Images Show Heavy Police Presence During Arrest
The photos were initially posted by the LAPD’s Gang and Narcotics Division and show the 32-year-old suspect surrounded by multiple law enforcement officers, TMZ reports.
In the images, Reiner’s hands are cuffed behind his back as members of the LAPD and the U.S. Marshals Service stand nearby. The arrest took place late Sunday evening near the intersection of Exposition Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, close to a Metro train station, which is visible in the background of the photographs.
The caption accompanying the now-deleted post read: “GND U.S. Marshal Task Force assisted Robbery Homicide Division in locating and arresting a double homicide suspect.”
Law enforcement sources later confirmed that the Robbery Homicide Division requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals Apprehension Task Force to help locate Reiner after he was identified as the suspect.

Authorities Detail Coordination Behind the Arrest
According to sources familiar with the investigation, the task force was able to track Reiner down and take him into custody without incident. He was then formally transferred to the LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division. Reiner is currently being held without bail at Los Angeles’ Twin Towers Correctional Facility, where sources say he has been placed on suicide watch as a precaution.
The release of the arrest photos marked the first visual confirmation from authorities following news that Rob and Michele Reiner were found dead Sunday afternoon. Police have not publicly released further details about the cause of death, but the investigation remains active.

Sources previously told PEOPLE that Nick and his father allegedly became involved in a heated argument during the event, with witnesses describing Nick’s behavior as unsettling. Some guests reportedly felt uncomfortable due to his actions that evening.
Hours later, authorities were called to the Reiners’ home, where the couple were discovered deceased. Nick was identified as a suspect later that day.
Nick Reiner’s Background
Nick Reiner has previously spoken publicly about his struggles with addiction and periods of homelessness beginning in his teenage years. In past interviews, he described cycling in and out of rehabilitation programs and becoming estranged from his family during some of those periods.
