A Louisiana woman has been charged with first-degree murder following the killing of her boyfriend's daughter.

Police say 43-year-old Bunnak 'Hannah' Landon is accused of killing her boyfriend's six-year-old daughter, before placing the child's remains in a wagon and wheeling the body to the girl's mother's home.

As reported by the New York Post, Sheriff Joseph Lopinto has revealed that security footage captured in the New Orleans suburb of Harahan at approximately 9:30PM on Tuesday evening shows Landon wheeling a wagon that contained a chlorine bucket on top.

The bucket was later discovered on the front lawn of the child's biological mother's home.

Inside the bucket was the body of six-year-old Bella Fontenelle. Jefferson Parish Coroner Gerry Cvitanovich says Bella was beaten and strangled before being killed, per the New Orleans Advocate.

Sheriff Joseph Lopinto told WDSU that the child's father - who has not been named - contacted the police on Wednesday morning at around 7:30AM to report Bella and his girlfriend missing.

Around an hour later, investigators visited the home of Bella's mom, where they made the shocking discovery. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office has since released the disturbing surveillance allegedly showing Landon wheeling the wagon through the neighborhood. The footage can be seen below:

The chilling video shows a woman - who police say is Landon - casually pulling the wagon behind her. At one point, she doesn't react as a white SUV drives by her.

Landon handed herself in at the Harahan Police Department after midnight on Wednesday and was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

"Interviews were conducted with both parents, and at this time our investigators do not believe that either parent was involved in the victim's death," a press release from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office reads.

"Landon will be booked at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center," the press release adds.

Bella was a student at St. Matthew the Apostle School, which canceled its classed for the remainder of the week and issued the following statement to fellow parents in a newsletter:

"It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow that we write to you. We have been informed by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office that a Kindergarten student here at St. Matthew the Apostle was found dead today."

"We ask you to pray for us and for all those impacted by this tragedy," the newsletter adds. "Let us pray together that the child’s family and that our St. Matthew the Apostle community will feel God’s love and mercy in the midst of this devastating loss."

The school says it will be providing emotional support to Bella's fellow students and educators.

Per The Post, Harahan Mayor Tim Baudier has also released a statement to the local community, saying: "As many of you know, there is an ongoing police investigation involving residents of our community — one of which is a young child.

"Our community prays for all those affected and that they may be comforted by the love and grace of God now and forever."

Our thoughts go out to everybody impacted by this tragedy.
