A Marine Corps veteran disarmed a would-be robber with a handgun at a Chevron gas station.
According to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office in Arizona, on October 20, the hero, who was a customer at the store, managed to grab the suspect's gun and restrain him in an epic scene that was caught on a security camera.
The incident took place at a gas station near Fortuna Road and the I-8. Officers responded to an armed robbery report at the scene at around 4:30 AM.
"Upon arrival, deputies learned of three suspects entering the Chevron, one of them armed with a handgun," the sheriff’s office said, per Fox 2 Detroit News. "The armed suspect walked next to a store customer while pointing the weapon toward the cashier when the customer acted immediately and disarmed him."

The armed suspect, who was under the age of 18, was booked into the Yuma County Juvenile Justice Center for one count of armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault.
No injuries were reported following the incident. Police are still on the hunt for the two other robbers who left the scene.
Footage of the incident has widely been shared on social media, with many commending the veteran for his bravery.
One person wrote: "The good guy didn’t even need a gun. Impressive!"
Another said: "There is no such thing as the "right" marine to mess with. They're all "wrong" to mess with."
A third remarked: "A dangerous move he could have easily been shot and killed, on the other hand, with a gun in his face he could have been shot and killed if he didn’t do anything. A split second decision and lightning fast reflexes made it work."
Per Fox 2 Detroit News, when officers asked the veteran how he was able to stay so calm and singlehandedly disarm the suspect, the ex-marine said: "The Marine Corps taught me not to [mess] around."
