Mike Pence has been accused of leaving a "shameful" tip on a restaurant bill, after a tweet allegedly showing the meager amount was shared to Twitter, where it went viral.

Remember the fly that landed on Mike Pence's headed during a debate?

A Twitter user named Sachin Chheda shared a tweet claiming that the Vice President left a tip amounting to just a few dollars after visiting a cafe. He wrote:

"Here’s the character of these people. A friend’s friend works at a restaurant that served  @Mike_Pence at lunch today. He tipped $5 on $45 bill. This is who these people are. Remember that, always."

When one Twitter user questioned why the VP was allegedly eating out in the first place, Chheda responded:

"I don’t know if he was/wasn’t following masking guidelines, but I’m not going to criticize eating out if the restaurant was open... I assume at less than full capacity, and following public health guidelines. The issue here is that he should be shamed for undertipping."

And some Twitter users seemed less than impressed with the amount of the tip. One commenter broke down the math of the tip on an order of that cost. They wrote:

"This is how the math works people: 44.25 bill, round up to 45; 10% is 4.50, x 2 for 20% means $9, but you round up so it’s an easy $10. Pence makes a ton of $$$, he’s not been hurt 1 bit by the pandemic. So, for folks like him the MINIMUM requires an extra $5 thrown in = $15"

Another Twitter user wrote:

This is a shitty tip at any time. But now? During a pandemic? That he exacerbated? Absolutely shameful. Don’t be a Pence. Tip at least 25% for people who are risking their lives to serve you, deliver to you, etc.

"Hey @VP, a 10% tip is NEVER enough [unless you have valid reason to complain]. We are in an economic nighttmare. I haven't tipped less than 25% since March. But you ARE staying on-brand." Another commenter wrote.

"This speaks so much about a person. Unless you’ve waited tables you’re not going to get it." A fourth commenter added.
