A mom has spoken candidly about losing her husband and two of her children as a result of a deadly tornado that tore through her mother's home in Iowa.

Kuri Bolger and her family had been visiting her mother and stepfather in Winterset, Iowa, from Blue Springs, Missouri, when a tornado struck the area in the late afternoon of March 5.

The 33-year-old mother of three survived with serious injuries along with her eight-year-old son, Brysen. However, Kuri tragically lost her 37-year-old husband, Michael, their five-year-old daughter, Kinlee, and their two-year-old son, Owen.

Kuri's 63-year-old mother, Melissa Bazley, also lost her life as a result of the turbulent conditions.

Now, the grieving mother and wife has spoken about the tragedy, referring to her surviving son as her "rock".

Watch the emotional interview below:

"I have Brysen," Kuri told Good Morning America."Thank God he made it through and everybody was able to save him because, at this point, he's my rock."

"It’s a roller coaster of emotion," she added. "I think there’s going to be really hard days and days that it’s a little bit easier, but just remembering that you just have to keep going."

Kuri broke her pelvis and leg when the tornado passed through her mother's home, and she spent over a week in hospital receiving treatment for her injuries. Brysen suffered a sprain in one foot.

She and her young son reunited when she was still at the hospital, which she recalls as being bittersweet.

"I was so excited to have him, but also so sad that it was just us," she said. "The rest of our family was gone."

Kuri was a stay-at-home mom for her three children while her late husband worked as a pipe fitter.

She described Mike, who she met about 13 years ago, as her best friend and as someone who "did everything for everyone else."

Kuri reflected on her toddler Owen's incredible fearlessness, copying everything his older brother and sister did. She also remembered the youngster as being a very polite boy.

"Everybody always told me, ‘I've never met a more polite two-year-old,'" she recalled.

Five-year-old Kinlee was the "most sweet, kind soul of anybody I've ever met," the mom told GMA.

Our thoughts continue to go out to the Bolger family, their friends, and loved ones.
