Savannah Kriger, 32, of San Antonio, was discovered dead next to her son, Kaiden, with both victims succumbing to gunshot wounds to the head, as per PEOPLE.
The discovery unfolded on March 19 when authorities stumbled upon the lifeless bodies at a park.

The ordeal began to unravel the day before, as authorities launched an Amber Alert for the missing mother and son on March 18.
Savannah was last seen leaving work early to pick up Kaiden from daycare and attend a doctor’s appointment.
However, their whereabouts remained a mystery until the tragic discovery at Tom Slick Park off State Highway 151E.
The situation took a grim turn when concerning evidence surfaced at the family home, prompting authorities to escalate their efforts.

The New York Post reported that authorities discovered that shots had been fired at wedding portraits in her home.
They also found portraits and her wedding dress laid out on her bed.
According to NBC News, Savannah sent a chilling five-word message to her husband prior to allegedly killing their child.
"Say goodbye to your son," the text reportedly read.
Savannah's call history reveals an additional effort to reach out to her ex-husband via Facetime, though it seems to have been unsuccessful.
Subsequently, a 21-second video was found on her phone.
In the footage, Savannah and Kaiden stand near the drainage ditch where their bodies were later discovered.
Savannah then states: "Say goodbye to Daddy," before apologizing to her son that his father wasn't present and kissing him.
Savannah's phone records show she looked up videos of children's cartoons while in the ditch.
Sheriff Javier Salazar addressed the media, revealing the devastating development that the case was now being treated as a homicide investigation.
Both victims were found with fatal gunshot wounds, with a firearm discovered near their bodies in a drainage ditch within the park premises.
Sheriff Salazar also disclosed that Savannah’s death occurred on the eve of a custody hearing concerning Kaiden.
"At this point, she [Savannah] is who we’re considering as the suspect," Sheriff Salazar asserted, dispelling notions of other suspects.
