If there's one rollercoaster ride that just refuses to stop, it's Nikki Bella and John Cena's relationship. For the past few months, no one has had any idea what's going on with the pair, and even if you think you do, chances are the situation will change within days, so don't get too comfortable.
The couple broke up back in mid-April after it was established that Nikki wanted children and John was unwilling to give them to her, with the scenario being played out on screen on the latest season of the Total Bellas, the spin-off of Total Divas which gives viewers a further look into the lives of Nikki and her twin sister Brie.
Soon after, the WWE wrestler backtracked, claiming that he would have children with his former girlfriend, despite years of insisting he would never be a father. "I wanna marry you and relationships and marriage especially is about sacrifice, and I will make that sacrifice for you. I will give you a child," he told her in an episode of Total Bellas.
In declaring his intentions to give her children, he also agreed to get his vasectomy reversed, stating: "I know. I physically can't have kids. So, I'm also telling you that I'm willing to have surgery and then still go through with being a dad."
However, amid speculation that the couple were back together, Nikki Bella herself has spoken out on the topic, finally giving the public an insight into what is really going on - and if you're a fan of the pair together, you're not going to be happy.
In a vlog post filmed on June 26, posted on July 1, she said: "Because I am a reality star, and I do have a reality show... I feel like I have to ... say what's the update on John and I, but right now we're just friends. I think it's hard for people to understand because we film and then things get shown a few months after and I think people are like, 'Are they together? Are they not?"
However, she gave fans a glimmer of hope when she continued to state: "We talk every day. He is not only my best friend, but he truly is one of the most amazing people I have ever met, I do have hope for us."
The 16-time world champion himself recently spoke out about the relationship recently, stating that he would love to get back together. John claimed: "I still love Nicole, I would love to marry Nicole, I still would love to have a family with Nicole. It was an unfortunate set of circumstances where our relationship ended. I love her. I want to be with her. I want to make her my wife. I want to be the father of her children. I just want us to work."
So, can these two crazy kids make it work? We sure hope so.
