Congresswoman Lauren Boebert reportedly used campaign contributions to attend a Kid Rock concert at a Texas rodeo event, according to official Federal Election Commission (FEC) documents.
Records show her campaign committee spent $925 on tickets to Kid Rock’s Rock N Rodeo at Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in May, coinciding with the Professional Bull Riding Championship World Finals, The Daily Mail reports.
The pair was photographed together at the event, sparking speculation about their relationship. In addition to ticket costs, Boebert’s campaign also spent $2,455 at a nearby hotel, documents show.
Under the Federal Election Campaign Act, using campaign funds for personal purposes is prohibited. Boebert’s office did not respond to the publication's enquiries about the political justification for the trip.
Democratic Challengers Criticize Spending
Democratic challengers in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District slammed Boebert for the expenditures.
Former Navy rear admiral Eileen Laubacher said, “Americans are tired of the circus they’re seeing from Washington, with politicians spending more time focusing on flying around going to concerts than passing solutions to lower costs. It’s time to bring integrity back to Congress.”

Another Democratic candidate, Trisha Calvarese, called the spending “even more proof that she needs a new job”.
Calvarese added: “We have campaign spending laws for a reason. She needs to follow them.”
Boebert and Kid Rock’s Relationship History
Boebert, 38, and Kid Rock, 54, drew attention last winter when they were spotted leaving a Trump inauguration party together in D.C., reportedly flirting into the early morning hours, per the Daily Beast.
Both were single at the time: Boebert had recently finalized her divorce from Jayson Boebert, who admitted to being “unfaithful”, while Kid Rock had ended his seven-year engagement to Audrey Berry.
The duo reignited speculation about their relationship when photographed at Kid Rock’s rodeo in May alongside conservative commentator Dana Loesch and her husband. Neither Boebert nor Kid Rock has confirmed a romantic relationship.
Boebert’s History of Questionable Campaign Spending
Boebert has faced scrutiny over past campaign fund use. In 2020, she reimbursed herself $21,000 for mileage claims that critics argued were implausible and possibly used to cover tax liens. In 2021, her campaign reported $6,650 in Venmo payments for personal expenses, which were later reimbursed, though election-law experts noted such use is illegal even if repaid, according to CNN.
Her personal life has also drawn media attention, including a 2023 incident where she was removed from a Beetlejuice: The Musical performance for vaping and groping her date, Quinn Gallagher, in a Denver theater, BBC News reported at the time. Boebert later apologized after video evidence surfaced.
Boebert’s Role in MAGA Politics
Boebert, along with Marjorie Taylor Greene, has been a high-profile booster of the MAGA movement, emphasizing immigration, gun rights, and anti-establishment messaging. She recently moved districts to secure a more favorable reelection path and resisted pressure from President Trump by voting to release files related to his connection with Jeffrey Epstein.
