A video showing the person suspected of killing Charlie Kirk has been released by officials in Utah.

Kirk, a right-wing activist and founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed while speaking at an event in Utah Valley on September 10.

Now, Beau Mason - the head of Utah’s public safety department - has shared surveillance footage showing the person suspected of carrying out the murder jumping from a roof and running across a road.

The weapon suspected of killing Charlie Kirk was found

In the video, the suspect could be seen running over a road and entering a wooded area, where police claim that a ‘high-powered rifle’ was found

The FBI confirmed in a press conference yesterday (September 11) that the recovered weapon is believed to be the murder weapon.

Utah governor Spencer Cox has appealed to the public to come forward with any information that might help them apprehend the suspect.

However, he added a note of caution, warning that ‘there is a tremendous amount of disinformation online’.

Cox said: “Our adversaries want violence,

“We have bots from Russia, China, all over the world that are trying to instill disinformation and encourage violence.

“I would encourage you to ignore those, to turn off those streams.”

During his speech, Cox made a pledge to find the killer and pursue a death penalty sentence against them.

The suspect has been shown in pictures and video

After releasing a photo earlier showing the suspect wearing glasses, a hat, and a black t-shirt, this latest video shows what appears to be the same person.

After firing a single shot from distance and killing Kirk, the person - who appears to be a male of ‘college age’ - fled the scene and into the local neighborhood.

Investigators claim they have found evidence, including a palm print, an impression from a shoe, and a hunting rifle in the wooded area near where the person can be seen fleeing.

President Donald Trump has blamed the ‘radical left’ for the killing, promising a swift and decisive response.

The President also claimed that he will posthumously award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Trump said that ‘big progress’ has been made in the investigation to date.

Despite that, the killer remains at large
