White House war advisor gives 8 week warning about 'most dangerous time of our lives'
An ex-White House war advisor has revealed why the coming months may put our lives at risk.
Robert Pape, who advised the Obama administration, has claimed that the next eight weeks following the midterms could be 'the most dangerous of our lives'.
The Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago spoke about his worries that the US is getting 'deeper and deeper into an escalation trap'.
In fact, there are three huge problems which should put not just the US, but the world, at caution.
Pape said that the first of these is this week's midterm election results, as well as the escalation of the ongoing conflict in Iran and the war between Russia and Ukraine.
The former advisor has explained how this can all lead to a horrible 2027.
Midterm elections
The President has claimed that the historic Republican loss, which saw states like Texas, South Carolina, and Kansas turn blue for the first time in decades, was because his name wasn't on the ballot.
In a landslide victory for the Democrats, the political party won the Senate and the House, meaning that there is now a ‘lame duck’ government.
Speaking on the Diary of a CEO podcast, Pape claimed that this result will mean that Trump's power will be 'severely checked' after the Republicans were embarrassed.
"It's the eight most dangerous weeks because the most dangerous time is the transition of power," he claimed.
Pape reflected on what unfolded when Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election, when MAGA supporters stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021, as they refused to accept the results.
"That occurred over a two-month period (after the presidential election). We are heading to a similar situation, and it's worse now," Pape explained.
"What we are witnessing is a watershed moment for the power of President Trump. It starts with the midterms; it starts with the consequences of Trump's presidency, but it doesn't stop there."
Iran war
The former Obama advisor explained that the transition of power in the midterms wasn't happening on its own, as he claims it may 'dovetail' with Trump's promised escalation of the Iran war.
He said that the President's proposed three-day bombing campaign of the nation could mean that the US would be left in a 'forever war' that would be 'impossible' to stop or escape.
Russia-Ukraine conflict
Lastly, the third issue is the continued illegal Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Pape said that there are 'growing signs' that European governments are 'extremely worried about what's coming in the Ukraine war'.
He suggested that a cyberattack from the Kremlin could result in 'enormous pressure' for retaliation from Europe and the US.
He then spoke about what a Third World War would look like, suggesting: "You know what the word is for that when Europe does that (retaliates)? World War Three.
"What World War Three means (is) when the world's largest powers attack each other's homelands and their militaries kill each other, directly engage each other."
It's not what you'd call optimistic.
