Anonymous has blasted Elon Musk for issuing his recent challenge to Vladimir Putin for a fight.

Yesterday, the SpaceX founder took to Twitter to challenge the Russian President to a fight - adding that the country of Ukraine is on the line.

Of course, Musk's tweet comes as Russian military forces continue to bombard the people of Ukraine, as Putin's "special military operation" enters its 19th day.

In his initial tweet - written in both English and Russian - the 50-year-old Tesla CEO stated: "I hereby challenge Владимир Путин to single combat," following by, "stakes are Україна".

Translated to English, "Владимир Путин" is Russian for "Vladimir Putin", and "Україна" is Russian for Ukraine. So Musk has literally issued a combat challenge to Putin, with the winner apparently getting Ukraine.

In a follow-up tweet, the Musk tagged the official Twitter account for the Kremlin, and asked: "Вы согласны на этот бой?" Which translates to "Do you agree to this fight?"

However, despite the initial tweet amassing more than 330,000 'likes' on the social media platform, not everybody was please with the billionaire's offer.

For example, the hacking collective group known as Anonymous - who has declared itself at "cyberwar" with Russia since the country's invasion of Ukraine - called out Musk for the "publicity stunt".

Highlighting the true stakes and costs of the ongoing invasion, the group replied to Musk, writing:

"Elon has no authority regarding the legal status of statehood & sovereignty of Ukraine. People are suffering, innocents are being killed, cities are being bombed, women and children are dying: Elon pushes publicity stunt. Shame on you."

And several other Twitter users were also left unimpressed by Musk's comments, with writer Claire G. Coleman writing: "You have no right to bet someone else's country as a stake in combat you muppet."

Journalist Femi Oluwole added: "Elon Musk is doing a great job of reminding everyone that it's not just Russian billionaires who need to be taken down."
