HasanAbi's pet sitter speaks out after claims Twitch star used a shock collar on his dog during live stream

A growing controversy involving Twitch streamer Hasan Piker has captured the attention of online communities after clips surfaced showing him allegedly using a shock collar on his dog, Kaya.

The incident quickly went viral, prompting widespread debate about Piker's treatment of his pet. This controversy reached new heights when Piker’s dog sitter, Caroline Kwan, stepped forward to offer her side of the story, challenging the accusations.

Caroline Kwan speaks out about the collar

In a video released on October 15, Caroline Kwan defended Piker against the allegations of animal abuse. “It’s not a shock collar; I’ve seen that collar,” Kwan stated in the video. She explained that she recognized the collar from her prior experience with Kaya and confirmed it was a vibration collar, not a shock collar.

Kwan also noted that the prongs had been removed from the collar. Her defense mirrored Piker’s own explanation, where he suggested that Kaya’s distressing yelp heard during a livestream resulted from the dog accidentally hitting a bedframe, rather than being subjected to any form of shock or punishment.

Social media reacts with mixed opinions

Kwan’s statement has done little to settle the debate, as reactions on social media have been divided. Some users have raised questions about her credibility, casting doubt on her defense of Piker.

Others have defended Kwan, criticizing the backlash against Piker, and suggesting that the outrage may be overblown. The situation has sparked a broader conversation about animal care and responsibility, with many voicing concerns over the use of such devices on pets, regardless of intent.

As of now, Piker has not made any public statements following the resurgence of the video. Known for his political commentary and left-leaning views, the controversy threatens to further polarize his already divided fanbase. The debate about animal welfare and online accountability continues to evolve as more details emerge.
